    MMA/UFC Breaking News: Long-awaited superfight Cyborg vs. Nunes set at UFC 232 Dec 29



    Cris “Cyborg” Justino will put her 145-pound featherweight title on the line against bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 232 in Las Vegas on Dec. 29, UFC president Dana White confirmed to multiple media outlets Wednesday.

    The matchup will be the first champion-versus-champion bout between women in UFC history and will take place at T-Mobile Arena.

    Cyborg (20-1, one no-contest) will be aiming for her third straight title defense. She claimed the belt against Tonya Evinger at UFC 214 in July 2017 before beating Holly Holm (UFC 219, December 2017) and Yana Kunitskaya (UFC 222, March 2018) in her past two fights.

    Nunes (16-4), meanwhile, has won seven straight fights, including three defenses of her title. She earned the belt by beating Miesha Tate at UFC 200 in July 2016 and has since beat Ronda Rousey (UFC 207, December 2016), Valentina Shevchenko (UFC 215, September 2017) and Raquel Pennington (UFC 224, May 2018).

    Both Cyborg and Nunes hail from Brazil.

    Yeah, really. Who knows what can happen in the next few months. We know that Nunes is a carpet muncher, and I don't know if Cyborg has a man hitting it or not, so at least neither one will get knocked up.

    i love nunes. like a 30 yr old kid that just loves to fight. i can't bet on her or joanna cause my fandom gets in the way. i used to think joanna could whoop anyone her size. i was wrong twice.
