Nothing so far on the thu games but I like the browns/bills over big!! I see it already up several points from where I grabbed it, I’d still play over anything less than 41.

Not sure if that is the right reason. I don't remember that in previous years totals jumped up so much from week 1 to week 2.

I guess that last week results, where everything flew over, is more of a reason for this adjustment.

Steelers +5.5 in the preseason? Even though we'll see more of the starters, the Steelers backups did a number on the Eagles last week. But what do I know?

They did beat the Eagles, but Packers looked very impressive last week. Their depth at wideout is probably best in the league. Valdes-Scantling proved to be legit vertical threat. Kumerow a guy with sure hands and creative ways to get open. St Brown and Moore also managed to get open a lot, although Moore did had some issues with drops. And these guys are all backups, who will go against second and third string dbs and get open easily.
QB's also looked very good. Besides Hundley and Kizer, rookie Boyle showed off a cannon arm. Lots of talent in the secondary as well. Only problem was the pass rush, which they generated very little of. Will help Dobbs and Rudolph to get some competions on the others side as well.

I was leaning towards the over, but don't know if I can pull a trigger at 43 in a preseason game.

No, that is not the reason. Reason is new penalty rule that resulted in lots of high scoring games last week, books do not want to get crushed on the OVERS again.

There were some stupid penalties for sure. But is that really the reason to bump the totals up for almost a TD across the board? I watched 15 out of 17 games so far, start to finish. I didn't get feeling that the helmet rule improved scoring that much. Is it far to say that there were 2.5 calls on average per game? That's like 40 yards and not neceserily on defense. I don't think that's enough for such adjustments.

I think the lines are inflated, because the linemakers expected a lot of over money coming in, because many people think the reason for high scoring last week is the helmet rule.
Might just be random week with a lot of scoring, or continuing development of the passing game in this league, which is becoming better and more difficult to defend.

Refs handed out 15-yard lowering helmet penalty like candy, so yes it is legit reason. And as you mentioned, much of the reason for inflated totals is the PERCEPTION of the new rule having a big impact. This could set up value for UNDERS this week.

The refs are letting the players know how things will be called during the season.

Expect far more of this penalty to be called in preseason than regular season.

Some players remain defiant and don't want to change the way they tackle.

There will be an adjustment, but it may just happen in the preseason as they are almost all professionals there.
