Buffalo Wild Wings hanging -260 on the Yankees.....

Buffalo Wild Wings explores adding sports betting

    8:27 PM ET

    • David PurdumESPN Staff Writer

Wings. Beer. Sports. And bets? Buffalo Wild Wings is looking to get into the bookmaking game.
    EDITOR'S PICKS

The popular sports bar chain, which operates in all 50 states and internationally, says it is exploring the newly expanded sports betting space in the U.S.
"As the largest sports bar in America, we believe Buffalo Wild Wings is uniquely positioned to leverage sports gaming to enhance the restaurant experience for our guests," a Buffalo Wild Wings spokesperson said in a statement to ESPN. "We are actively exploring opportunities, including potential partners, as we evaluate the next steps for our brand."
Buffalo Wild Wings' interest in sports betting was first reported by Las Vegas publication Gaming Today.
In May, the U.S. Supreme Court lifted a federal law that had restricted legal sports betting to primarily Nevada for the last 26 years. Since the court's ruling, striking down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, Delaware, Mississippi and New Jersey have begun offering Las Vegas-style sports betting. West Virginia is expected to be up and running by the start of the NFL season, and analysts predict that more than half of the states will have legal sports betting within five years.

Exactly. Sweeper, how awesome would that be?

Talk the sports-bar concept. And add a sports-BOOK! Imagine grabbing something to eat, watching the game, and cashing out on the way out.

Everyone is exploring their way into the piece of the pie.

It won't be long that lobbyist and legislators cut that Pennsylvania tax down to a workable, margin friendly numbers.

Genius idea. Sucks they closed the one around here. This will help business immensely. People love to go out on Sunday to watch all the games. This makes the decision on where to go easier for a lot of guys. Just casual betting with some booze and wings. Doesn’t get much better. They should throw in some Hooteresque waitresses.

Exactly right, the long term numbers are too much to ignore.....the 1%er's that want some revenue for "integrity fees" or ball park up keep will be told to sit down and shut the fukk up. The margins are already razor thin

    Agreed.

I can see that and it could become Americana very soon.

I would think there would be a back office Will Hill type to offer services to anyone who can legally add them to their business or restaurant, etc.

Then there is no limit in some states.

Cheers Cuse, thanks for the kind words the other day and good to see you around.

    Buffalo Wild Wings Sportsbook?

Sounds like BWW is thinking about adding sports betting in their restaurants. I don't know what the costs are in each state, but the place where I live is packed all the time, could be a big money maker for them. I'd think they'd take a ton of bets and increase their food/drink revenues too.

it would open up a pandora's box. any bar with a tv would want to start taking bets of course. patrons would over indulge while waiting for their game result as they would not leave until they could cash out.

I'm actually banned for life from all BWW for doing sports betting on site

    This would be hypocritical

No way this company is doing this- the crap they put me thru with warning letters and a TRO, I dont see it happening. Actually called me an "element of society that disenfranchises our brand and stakeholders by association"

The fees most states are going to charge to take bets will make this prohibitive. BBW serves food in cardboard boats; yeah, that's the place I want to spend a football afternoon. It'll be like going to the racetrack and watching people go nuts for their horse coming down the stretch. Awesome, they're going to cash a show ticket worth $2.80.

All I picture is a bunch of SBR posters barreled in doing dishes at Wild Wings because they put their full $20 bankroll on that sure fire Bet and now can't afford their appetizers.

Starting first with a JJGold video begging us to come pay his bill.

Everyone will have it, it will become common place.

Security will have to hired at all fast food joints with a TV as gambling brings a criminal element and a shady, seedy seen out in the parking lot.

    Offshore is better.
