I don’t disagree w nats heating up and getting this 3 way race for the east super tight sooner than later. that said they just too pricey for me to play them in this one.

Anibal has pitched incredibly well out of nowhere this year, turned back the clock 4-5 years! His velo has lost some steam from back then but the cutter (didn’t throw it back in those tiger days) has become a weapon he gets a lot of soft contact with. Hard contact against him back down close to those good years and inducing soft contact at one of best clips of his career. Along w those contact rates he has his hr per 9 back down under 1 which pretty solid for guy who isn’t a ground ball pitcher and in that new braves park that a bit of a launching pad.

Don’t get me wrong, clearly starting pitching edge goes to nats and stras has always been a beast second half pitcher. Both guys been at their best on extra rest in their careers so don’t think the extra days is a advantage for anyone (of course stras has been on dl for minute so possible rust?). Braves have had some success vs Strasburg, nats have vs Sanchez as well but he hasn’t allowed a er to them this year (only 10+ innings I believe).

All that saying is I think Anibal can hold his own here to where the -170 feels somewhat disrespectful/high imo. Nats obviously should be favs but no way could I lay that, don’t love atl to win but pretty tempted at that price..

Lester interestingly pitched the last game before the break and he’s coming out the gate pitching the first game after the break, he’s only got two losses I do expect him to progress a little bit, I don’t expect him to win 20 + games this year.

I didn’t suspect it was one of your plays, never known you to play that kind of juice on bases. Just talking bout it since I assume your answer to the young man lead him to believe nats were a good play., not that they won’t win, I just think they overpriced.

I lean cards w flarherty at that price but looks like lot of rain around the Chicago area so it a pass for me, I try to avoid potential weather impacted games as much as possible.

I took the OVER, betting the wrong way into that weather and against the public. I'm hoping it's not too impactful but I get what you are saying, sometimes it's best to pass on those weather and injury games.
