Are Cleveland fans buying Lebron Lakers Jerseys to burn them?

Or are Lebron fans in Cleveland still Lebron fans?

James will wear No. 23, the same number he wore in both of his Cleveland stops, league sources have told ESPN.

In the first three hours of sales, there was a 600 percent spike compared to how his new Cavaliers jersey sold on the site on the day when he returned to Cleveland from Miami in July 2014.

The top markets for sales of LeBron's Lakers jersey were Los Angeles, New York, Oakland/San Francisco and Cleveland.

Most of the fans that burned jerseys in 2010 either grew up or croaked by now. The smarter fans around there are grateful for the one ship that LeBron delivered them. They know that there's only so much you're gonna get in today's Cleveland. Browns fans already were so used to losing lol. At least they can root for the Cleveland Indians or Ohio State, lol.

Smart fans realize this NBA business is just that. A business!

I am well aware of that. But Ohio State is also the flagship college for the state of Ohio. And in some Midwestern states, college sports are more popular than professional sports. I currently live just outside of Detroit (after the majority of my life in the Chicago area). In Michigan, I can almost undoubtedly say that college sports are more popular than a lot of the pro sports. You see University of Michigan and Michigan State attire being worn all over the Metro Detroit area.

I’m just surprised so many Lakers jerseys are being bought in Cleveland.

Don't call Cleveland, Ohio a shit hole city.. That's Racist!!! ...

Is a dump I agree... Cleveland is ranked the 9th most dangerous city in America.. Couldn't pay me to live there.. I'd bail out if I were Lebron to.. I'm actually still surprised he went back after leaving the first go around..

Why? Being a Cavs fan will be worthless now. With LeBron gone and his great work as a GM the last few years Cavs will be a D league team for years to come.

LeBron grew up in Ohio. Delivering at least one ship to not just Cleveland, but all of Ohio was one key piece of his legacy that he needed to fulfill. And he delivered in 2016. Yet another reason there are no jersey burnings this year like there were in 2010. Something felt empty & didn't feel right when he bolted in 2010. Even non-Cleveland fans sensed it.

Yeah exactly. He is an icon at this point. He delivered the title to Cleveland once and there are plenty of LeBron stans in Ohio that will be loyal to him no matter what team he is on (or if he retires). He has like Jordan status out there at this point. At least among his fanbase.

At what point does Lebron slow down? He is 33.

He is going to be making 40 million when he is like 37.

By the time the Lakers acquire the right pieces...will Lebron still even be the same guy?
