My mind is blown that baseball fans still think that Batting Average is relevant.

Harper’s OPS is .836. While it’s not an OPS of a guy who will allegedly get a monster contract in Free Agency, it’s an OPS that is better than the average MLB starting position player.

I would be surprised if he ends the season with a .925+ OPS.

Nothing about him is relevant because they’ve never been in a really dominating only guys that win big time are worth that type of money

Nicky Foles in football 5x more powerful than Harper cross sport example

Trout should play on the East Coast, where he can be seen. No one around here stays up 'til 1:00 AM watching a shitty LAA team.

Have you seen the new DirecTV contract, now ATT. Yikes. Talk about where the big money comes from, it not ticket sales.

Guys hitting like .215 right now. This has been a trend for him. Start hot, then tapers away as the season progresses. You could probably get another season or 2 similar to 2015 but that's about it.

    Also super injury prone.

With Soto emerging I can see Nats parting ways with Harper. He's simply not worth what the market will dictate.

    IT IS ALL Pitching

Tampa has minor league players yearly and very competitive

Do need a good batting average when you get to the Playoffs, can't just rely on the long ball,as we've seen numerous times it's more about grinding out hits, and strong pitching.

Been watching the Nationals in the Playoffs with Harper and he could never get that timely hit.

You are right on the Angels! Trout can't run show alone by himself bc let's face it, like you said it, pitching is a really really big part of Baseball and I don't mean only starting pitching. It goes as far as relievers, having the right set-up man and the closer to close out games and most importantly the balance of workload between starters and bullpen. I think we don't have to argue much by saying that Cleveland and Houston (this season) have the best starting pitching in the MLB, compare the Angel's starters to these franchises and you will come to the conclusion that the Angels starters stink.

Angels could spent that Hamilton money on good pitching but they didn't, to me a bad investment, again bad descion making by the management, at the end of the day a team is only as good as the management. It all starts with the guys who are responsible and liable for managing a team.

What do you mean by competitive regarding Tampa? You mean in terms of winning/record? Or by reaching the playoffs?
