Watching both games today showed that Pogba can play great football when he feels inspired. That M'bappe has amazing pace and skill , and that he is playing off of 2 very clinical marksmen in Greizman and Giroud. Uruguay are relentless on defence and have a great 1....2 punch with Suarez and Cavani. When Cavani pulled up with a late injury ( looked like a calf muscle ), Suarez became an island up front , and chances were rare. I have no idea if Cavani will be 100% by Friday, but i dont think we will see + money on France if he isnt.

There is no arguing over the stellar defense that Sweden have played so far. The best of which was their 3 - 0 win over Mexico , where they held off a 1st half barrage and eventually pulled away on an own goal by Mexico and a counter against the flow. In their knockout game vs the Swiss , they once again absorbed the superior play of the Swiss midfield ( 63 - 37 % possession ), and found a late goal on a fluky deflection. The game against Germany that they lost 2 - 1 , was another example of them settling into a familiar defensive formation and awaiting a counter opportunity ( 71 - 29 % possession and vs 10 men the last 10+ minutes ). England played inferior opposition against Tunisia and Panama , but dominated both games. The game against Belgium was no indicator of whats to come since both managers chose to rest several players. The knockout game vs a very talented and experienced Colombian side , saw England play a stellar game at both ends of the pitch. They showed great will from the onset and were unfortunate not to put the game away early ( especially the non red call for a head butt ). Getting over a long standing hurdle of not being able to win in PK's will give them a huge boost. Better team , inspired = England win imo
