I think you just need to trust that eventually everything just levels out and makes sense in the long run. There was a period of time - I want to say for 3 to 6 months or so - that
Louise and I were literally the only ones moderating the forum although none of you knew that. Seven days a week, 24 hours a day if it wasn't him it was me or both of us and
that was with more people actively posting in PT than in the subforums which is the opposite now. We even had more posters then because it was a couple of years after online poker went busto and people were seeking help and solace anywhere they could find it. With two people it was obviously quite easy to coordinate how we handled things and that's what set many of the standards you long-timers are used to but as you add more and more people, obviously things change and there really isn't one way of doing this job. To be honest with all of these changes recently I initially was pulled in for being too strict with people... the same posters I've known either in person or online for years and years and know how to handle and why this or that works with one person and not another. I've always followed John and Louise's example of saying "email me at Xmas or in the New Year" and usually the person will hold out until say August or maybe even October and then when they write me they realise why their behaviour was shit and we never have an issue again even years later. I have entire threads and maybe even forums dedicated to how much xyz hate me for banning them for being scammers/racist/homophobic so it's not like I've never been accused of being too strict even by posters. And when those posters now act up because they're being given way too many chances I just sit back and bite my tongue because for all I know maybe a new way might have worked even if it didn't in this instance.
And I understand your last ban pissed you off but as I told you privately there gets to a point where sometimes a staff member can feel pushed and pushed and we realise we can't spend any more time or energy on dealing with a situation that's not going to resolve itself in its current state. You need to remember that while there are a heap of posters, non posters who write with sportsbook complaints, scammers from god knows where trying to get us constantly, multi accounters, requests from bosses, etc... there are only a designated number of us working to deal with all of it so what feels like the utmost importance to you may just be another fire to put out on a never-ending list for the person dealing with it. Not that that's an excuse but that's reality.
Just stay cool mate. No one is living or dying by this stuff and while it may seem a bit frustrating at times, I'd just trust that any day a staff member can get through without having a negative interaction with a poster is seen as a win all around. All of us just want to have a great time and hopefully win a bloody bet or two every now and then
