My choice as the best and greatest starting 5 of all-time. Plus, team #2.

    NBA of course.
I had to make two teams because of the list of terrific and untouchable competition it would take to make the #1 team as well as the #2 team.

    # 1. Jordan--Magic--Doctor J--Bird--Jabbar--

    # 2. Kobe--Russell--Oscar--Duncan--Maravich--

These great player's blended together like fresh squeezed lemonade and won championships galore.
    * Excluding one player who never was able to win one, however, he may have been the greatest player to ever touch an NBA basketball?

Not a believer? Check his stats and videos and you may agree on this one thing; the greatest, all-around-basketball-player, to ever play?

Well its a good thing you don't and will never own a basketball team but you can order the bobble heads of those players and group them together in your "best team" format in the old folks home for your deranged peers to see and drool on abe

It is. Make one better and I'll probably explain why you'll lose? Team 1 of course.

No i meant an actual regular season/playoff roster.

    Like 2017/18 Warriors for example.

Anyone with me to keep this clown off any serious basketball minded threads?
Please start the voting: 1, etc.

Moderators can vote, too. Their vote counts as 5 instead of one.

NOTE: you cannot have all ball hogs on your team, esp when they shoot as such a low percentage

    OK?

ROLE PLAYERS exist for a reason

Mikan? He would be left in the dust by Jordan and Doc J. You gotta be able to run the floor at top speed to compete at a superior level.

Abe it looks like you missed the past 8 years but I’ll fill you in. The most dominant player I’ve ever seen has been in the finals. Every. Year. With good teams and shitty teams, didn’t mater.

    I like the Stockton pick

NBA's All-Time Assist AND Steals leader.

Best ever at those 2 things on BOTH sides of the ball, offense & defense.

Simply an amazing feat that is greatly overlooked.

That's very guard heavy, 2 pgs and 2 swings. Any of the greats can just dump in to the other big that the dream isn't guarding and get easy buckets or freethrow all day

Guys, you simply cannot leave off the [maybe, and 30 years ago] the greatest dunking player of all-time.

What point of these players career arc are you assuming? Their primes?

Young Jordan was much more explosive and athletic than comeback Jordan.

Also young kareem or alcindor on the Bucks was much more active on both ends of the floor, finishing fast breaks and stopping them on defense. Could be considered a 4 by today's standards

Alot of these players fall into that reality, can't rly just take all of the best of their careers and pick and choose at will

Quit going on about Dr j, give it a rest. Lebron surpassed him yrs ago, the docta is closer to the human highlight film than he is to lebron

What's the difference between nique and Dr j? 1 title? They both relied on athleticism and leaping ability without ever developing a jumpshot. And Erving was on s stacked philly team that only produced 1 ring

Dr j was a finesse dunker, Dominique was vicious and brutal with his dunks

They're close but I'll take the Dominique everytime bc he's gonna throw it down on a 7 footers face rather than go around and lay it up like Erving

Dominique gets absolutely no love for his career.
Nobody comes close to his dunks , guy tried to rip the goal down every dunk he made , loved watching him play .

Oh well, I see I failed not only to educate the younger members on SBR about superior basketball players, but also, I failed to influence them I have better basketball player knowledge.
It's all in the nose. You must gather in all the experienced knowledge you are capable of, til the day your sniffer is fine tuned in.

Oh well, allow them to wander on and get lost til one day, this happens...

Nice , but to me Magic and LeBron would duplicate each other too much.
Would always want Timmy D. on any team I could put together.
BUT, if I was making an all time, in their prime team...…

    Magic
    MJ
Larry (homer/token white) , but devastating when healthy.
Barkley ( rebound, dirty work, help MJ on D )
    Kareem

Can`t have LeBron b/c Magic. 80s rules of course. Hand check. No gimme lay-ups.

Nice try, But Doc would fly completely over the fatboy and slam it with authority. 4 of 5 is the best grade so far.
