They have had a couple of false alarms there this year. This time it wasn't. It's very sad for the parents of these kids. The Police chief is a school mate as well. I tired calling him after I heard the news, but he is not taking calls. I don't want to imagine what everyone there is going through. I just keep looking on Facebook and am happy to see when another friend replies that their child is safe.

This is not a white issue. This is a society issue. This is on all of us. Bullet's have no color and doesn't care if you're democrat or republican. Several families just lost their loved ones. Kids that had their entire lives ahead of them. Kids that parents spent every dime raising with the hope they would one day be somebody in this great country. Kids that they took to daycare, gymnastics, baseball practice and in an instant, their lives are gone. This is a great tragedy and it's happening everyday all over the US. Whether it's a kid on the southside of Chicago or a kid on a farm in Iowa. We must not lose compassion for those around us. We must be able to feel their pain, else we will never do anything. Gun violence is a national epidemic. We must admit it and be radical in order to change.
