Can somebody explain why they always choose schools and innocent students as their targets? I know they are vulnerable and an easy target, but then...is the school security not enough to protect these children? Parents in the near future will no longer send their kids in the school for the fear that they'll be gone in just a blink of the eye. So sad!

As a responsible gun owner I just can’t figure out why they don’t make everyone coming in a school subject to going through a metal detector with a cop there like they do at court houses. You don’t hear about court house shootings because of this very reason. JMO

That's what I suggested and posted above.. Make it like a Court house or even a Jail... Not that pricey for all public schools to build a secure gating system on the perimeter and install a few metal detectors..
i wouldn't fuk anyone up with a gun, I'd use fists and, if outnumbered, a baseball bat for that....

It has NOTHING to do with a soft target. That is bullshit. Crazy people will kill others and not give a shit about the repercussions. Most do not care if they are shot and killed. Most are ready to die. Have you ever heard of suicide by cop? People don't care that you a teacher or law enforcement are armed. They're going to go out in a blaze of glory. People have shot up police cars, police stations, army bases, what have you. These are all mentally ill people with a gun. Your gun is not a deterrent for them. They can run up on kids at a mall and shoot them up. Nowhere is safe from a mentally ill person.

If kids want to shoot up a school they will just wait until school gets out or during the morning rush in the parking lot/ entrance area
Putting in security to get in the school will keep you safer only during that time

Got to have an armed guard at the point of entry at the school where the metal detectors are.. An active shooter won't try that even in the parking lot if armed guards are present..
