I just want to know if the money for the gofundme page is going toward dogs. That sounds really weird to me.

    Donk,

It's brutal terrain. It's not uncommon for people to get lost and rescued there. It's basically the Sierra/Nevada mountain range.

Thanks for the reply. With all that goes on with the gofundme pages I think it's fair to ask questions.

How many dogs are on this search?

Shouldn't the county or the state be picking up the tab on the search no matter what resources are needed?

Most importantly, is there any new developments that you can tell us?

Red Rock and METRO have dogs on the case. My sister got a quote from a private company, but they will not start while the police investigation is active.

As as far as updates, I will share this:

We have another scenario emerging due to another possible sighting, which is a mix of likely and unlikely elements, but the more we turn it over, the more considerable it becomes, including suggesting new locations we are now thinking we could put out drone operators to search.

Along with his photo posts from this year, we also need any info we can get from anyone who has hiked with him recently re clothing he has nowadays: pants, shirts, jackets, hats (both his green baseball cap and off-white brimmed hat were in the car. Has he acquired another one/type lately?) and anything else he might have worn. The sighting included a camera with a telephoto lens. I know he preferred simplest, light and easy-to-manage camera setup, but maybe he has a new thing, OR witness saw camera around neck and mistook something else for the lens. Etc., etc. (I haven’t been out with him since last summer.)

I also want to be able to see the binder of photos, as gathered together, since I am also organizing search efforts and am working with locals who well know David, his project and the Mtn terrain. Our input is essential to avoiding misinterpretation by people who are less familiar with these things.

Theories.... older guy walking down the mountain alone on a Saturday night with a camera around his neck. Probably exhausted and slightly confused, possibly dehydrated. Where did he go from there?
    1. Stopped to rest, possibly back from the road. One of the little caves or a wash?
    2. (Bad case) Possibly noticed by the wrong people (known dumping area for MS13 gang). Might have noticed his camera and decided they wanted it.
    3. "Someone" picked him up?
    4. Possible head trauma leading to amnesia if he fell at any point. Have hospitals been checked?
    5. If it was him walking down Kyle Canyon Rd, how far did he get? Maybe check for street facing cameras at homes on lower Kyle.”

BTW, David’s sister just confirmed that Metro are checking hospitals for amnesia/unknown patients.

At this point, with no trace of David after searching most likely areas, considering most likely scenarios, we are now in thinking mode for considering all out-of-the-box possibilities, to widen our approach.

Check the store or gas station camera's? Do you know where he usually fills up before leaving town? This could help to see if somebody was with him.

did he need to leave town in a hurry? get people off his trail?

    who's heading the investigation?
Again, read the fuk'in thread Einstein from the beginning. And stop asking the same redundant conspiracy questions. Scrub desert terrain? Do you have a fuk'in clue as to how vast and remote the Mount Charleston Recreational Area is? Over 56,000 acres.

It's already been established he had a routine, experienced hiker, never went more than a day or two without contacting someone, well respected, wasn't in financial trouble and might be in a remote area.

FBI profiles and you tin foil hat wear'in fuks with your "in debt with the wrong backers", asinine assumptions. Dave Malinsky is missing after go'in on a hike at Mount Charleston and all resources are hopefully being devoted to that.

What he wrote is deep, but my reason for posting it and the other link, a woman he corresponded with,
Is that the language fits the mold of a person who would escape and make a new beginning.
Of course I have no idea if that is true or not, but...

When you feel something inside of yourself growing with each step, and your developing senses appreciating what surrounds the path even more, then you are on the verge of the most important discovery you can make, and any notions of maps can be discarded. Your path has no end, for both you and Nature are constantly evolving, and it is in that trust of Nature that you can place yourself, and explore the labyrinths ahead filled with the joy of anticipation, instead of trepidation.

That's what I was suggesting. After all, a big search has turned up no clues. But he didn't seem like the type to put everyone through so much. I think he had a plan for contact if he did "go off the grid."

The alternatives, and we could name them, are just terrible; especially considering a body hasn't been found.

    Hopefully he's safe.

Sometimes you have no tact to your posts or opinions, but I think just like you. People that want to come off as happy,content,accomplished,etc....might not be happy with their lives. Some of the best people are their worst critics. It doesn't mean he couldn't have fallen and hit his head or had a health issue, or foul play was involved either by a human or a wild animal.

Like you said, unless you're with that person, you don't know what they're thinking. I must say, a hiker that is 6 foot 180 pounds tall and goes by himself is confident and probably in very good shape (57 or 58 isn't that old). I'm not kissing J.J.'s ass but all of his questions are the best questions and the most legitimate ones. Why are there new posters here? Unless there's confirmation that they're very well known and trustworthy, why shouldn't J.J. question why they're on the site all of a sudden and approach with caution.

Good luck. I hope the dogs help find some resolution. Hopefully a positive ending, but if there's no closure, that would be brutal. Police need to let these pooches get to work and I bet we'll get the answer that people are looking for. Hopefully a good answer. Never give up. People are too quick to write off or give up a situation that seems dire.

Wish I had more hope, would drive me mad knowing my loved one has been missing since Sat 3 pm
and its now Thursday. Almost 5 days, and his car was found. Its really bugging me and I didnt even know him
I hate any "missing person" cases, even on ID channel or Tru TV, naturally having to know the factual truth of everything
missing person cases always drives me mad wondering . Especially since closure to any situation is so important

I understand having the thread and all, but its just adding more mixed feelings seeing it bumped
then not hearing any good news .....
