Drew - The FAQ posted seems pretty outdated (from 2013). Does SBR Poker still not work with Mac Computers?

We try to encourage non pros to join the PRO community and receive the many benefits of doing so. Opening our events to all is the first step to get the nons to participate.

I agree with this policy in poker - especially when they have to pay entry fee to participate. Should be encouraged but not given a free ride.

I will admit that I really don't like the policy that SBR has for BTP/BTB though - allowing non-pros in for same as pros early on. Then more than midway through if they are doing well, they finally plunk down the $ to join while if they are tanking, they just allow themselves to be removed - they should not be encouraged to freeroll like that imo (not to mention probably many people ghosting/multi-accounting - then again when the time comes, they can just have those in contention become pro and forget about the others).

Obviously am biased, but in my opinion, non-pros should at least be removed earlier from those contests if they don't turn pro - would make it a lot harder for them to freeroll when they would have to make the commitment at a stage where whether they will win a cash prize is much less clear (say they were removed after Week 5 rather than Week 10).

The new structure is interesting - much more of a "normal" structure, paying out 8 of roughly 50 rather than 12 out of roughly 35-40. Probably a good thing since it's much more likely to prepare SBR players for playing "real" poker which pays out roughly the % of participants in the new structure rather than about 33% as in the old.

This structure is small b’s kryptonite. No coasting to easy min cashes in this series.

The reason why I played in maybe 2 tournaments last year is because I thought
it wasnt worth sitting there for over a hour with the low payouts as it was
and that was when it was like 600 for 1st, 350 2nd, 250 3rd and so on
Now look at the payouts daily LOL .... and 50 players so tournaments will take more time
Ouch, ouch and more ouch . If this makes the poker players here happy then kudos
but no way could I play that long in those tournaments for 90 minutes and get my KK cracked by J9 off
and land in 6th for 30 betpoints (that also then needs to be rolled over)

Exactly, don't get it. Nothing like sitting there for an hour and a half to get rivered by some non pro who doesn't give a fuk.

    Cool.

The prizes this time arent super enticing for the amount of time and effort this requires, I'd like to make some side wagers/races for most points won during the contest.

We could pool everyone interested and pay a top 3 etc or just head to head wagers

Oh shit never mind. I didn't even pick up on this. SBR is basically saying they are losing money at poker and this is a clear sign. No fall tourney, reduced contest prizes, reduced daily prizes, and bigger field.

    Pass.

    Gl to those who play!

Hey Drew, with the reduced prizes ---why not bring back the morning slot? We play while we have coffee and bitch abt Peavy's software edge. Points are secondary, but reducing the win to 300 is really pathetic

JJ, JUST BECAUSE Waves is the one guy in North Jersey who is willing to suck off your schshort (opposite of schlong) in the Riverside County Park men's room (all the others just want your flaxen throat), you don't have to keep buttering him up.......

everyone knows he sucks, plays about 30-50 more trnies than everyone else on the site because he has no life (though he calls having no life "having his priorities right by never missing a single daily trny all f'n year), and stalls every f'n other hand to increase his chances for yet another min-cash.....

I'll bet anybody and everybody here 2k in betpoints he doesn't win it....

I'm good for it, as I'll be going to the bahamas, uh, I mean, moving to the bahamas this summer, and bcan buy enough betpoints while I'm there, living, to pay off all who want to agree to this wager....my six figure B of A acct has grown since you all last saw it, so let'd do this.....
    step up, JJ.....

and sbr, thanks for the long-awaited promo!!!! great job!.

At first I was thinking, dam, 50 players will be out of control. Until I realized it's usually 40. 10 more players is no big deal. Thanks SBR for making poker great again.

also cut the daily prizes in what, half?

someone like peavy can clarify this for us but I would rather argue than add the 12 places from the usual dailies

I think by introducing this tourney, sbr is saving more cash

that's fine, but don't act like we have something big and exciting coming for 2018

daily prizes are cut by 70%. so they are just using that to pay for the championship.
