    Laying horses - Starting from Feb-12-2018

    It has been going well for me, so I'm going to document my bets. I'm using a 1000 EUR bankroll and placing bets with 9Wickets using AsianConnect88 (bet broker).

    First bet:

    Fairview, Port Elizabeth - South Africa - 14:50pm local time

    Laying (Betting this horse not to win the race) --> Ruby Duchess, No. 10

    Nomination(s):
    This post was nominated 1 time . To view the nominated thread please click here. People who nominated: aggieshawn

    Ruby Duchess finished 4th.
    Net profit so far --> 18*0.97 (3% 9Wickets tax) = 17.46 EUR (1.746% ROI).

    Cashing this out to Bitcoin so balance will remain 1000 EUR for future bets.

    Next posts will be much shorter because you can now get the gist of it.

    Second Bet:

    Fairview, Port Elizabeth - South Africa - 15:25pm local time

    Going against No.5 - Dance in the woods, the odds are now 50 in 9Wickets but I managed to grab good odds against this one:

    A win of 24.66 EUR for the 2nd bet.
    You can use TVG.com to watch the races live at no cost by the way.
    Also use that site as well as William Hill to read some basic info on the horses and check in TVG their past performance and expectation for the race itself.

    I don't have any fav but I think Ryan Munger is doing a terrible job ... next race his horse - Armstrong's Boy - has very good odds, so laying it would yield over 150 EUR of winnings, but I have to stay discipline here as I tend to avoid laying horses like this, so for me I might stay away from this one ... besides the UK races are coming up and they are much more solid than South Africa in terms of market liquidity, offers and more.

    Shine Like A Star looks a decent win bet in that race

    It's hard to predict but the longer the race - the more accurate the odds would be in general, because the bad horses can't compete properly when they need to run for 2 or 3 miles, it's just too long. And these are the best times to lay such horses.

    This race is only 8 furlongs (approx 1.6 km), it's too short - hence: no bet.

    It is a matter of time you get burnt

    The issue is you need to hit too many bets to win

    Hi I'm on 9wickets also which I love esp for USA Races and Fairlay too for horses and I do many lay wagers...Lay bets are very profitable but I focus my attention on lower priced horse that are drifters...That is the best angle where you can lay and make a few bucks...I never lay any horse over 5.0 odds and most I lay are under 3.0...it has been profitable for over a year since I started w Fairlay and now 9wickets

    7th Bet:

    You got plenty of time to copy-paste this one (20 minutes to go). It's a sure thing this one, I'd go blindly against this one:

    I was betting on this one assuming the odds would keep on going badly against this one, but that's what happens when you try it 20 minutes in advance to the race, sometimes it goes better, sometimes it's not.

    ouch sorry bout the loss, but its no way to make a profit. laying huge odds on a longshot you can win 40 bets and lose 1 and be in the red.

    Is there decent volume on US races on fairlay? I thought I remember checking once and it looked kind of thin.
