    I am actually teasing a bit. I moved about 30% into bonds and kept most in pretty diversified funds. I still like health care, Amazon, and solid companies that pay dividends.

    Last company I was invested in that pay dividends nearly took all I had

    Chesapeake Energy, nice little natural gas outfit in OKC, went from somewhere around $30/share to under $3/share

    Of course the dividends had nothing to do with anything but hearing the word gives me flashbacks.

    I knew a lot of people that lost everything during that time. We were fortunate that we had rentals in desirable neighborhoods and naturally they foreclosed on the $500,000 houses and the market for $150,000 was white hot so we sold. Not everyone was so lucky.

    I always liked the idea of being diversified in real estate and hated to sell but it was the right thing to do. Now we own one property along the white river in Eureka Springs Arkansas, our zombie retreat plan A.

    Jibbby I was joking because you said that "real estate can't go down" which is usually the queue for something to tank. I recall 2007 wasn't such a hot time to own real estate. I currently own real estate and have owned rental properties in the past. I was actually looking into that little strip mall on Lincoln in the Marina where Enterprise used to be that is going for 5 mil. You wanna go halves???

    Those days are long gone. A free drink ticket is about all the casino will give to sports bettors. A 25 cent slot player is more valued than a guy who only bets football, hoops and bases.

    I know exactly where that is, I drive by that all the time Gauch.. Little rich for my blood, don't have 2.5 million laying around..

    Everything is too expensive on the west side right now.. Lincoln Blvd especially.. We need a real estate collapse, riot or earthquake to bring down property values.. ... Everything is over inflated right now..

    Another Northridge earthquake and I clean up though.. Red tagged vacant apartment buildings are a gold mine when they get foreclosed on after and go BANK REO....
