    ttw:

    * I'm a Packer fan, but Favre isn't #4. Huge-arm, but threw too into coverage too much.

    * Bart Starr was lucky to be the right guy at right time. Was part-time starter first3 yrs in league.

    * Aaron Rodgers is easily going to be top10 by end of career.

    agree with Rodgers

Brady can apologize at a later date and move up to 7

Dan Fouts today on a good team would be top 5

congrats on the big move up by Steve Young and Joe Montana

    big years for them

When Brady, Rodgers, Eli, or whatever qb loses its always because of the O line, defense or no running game, but when Peyton Manning, aka the greatest qb of all time loses, its always because of Peyton???? You don't see Manning crying like a baby like Brady or whoever and blaming everyone else. He takes his loss like a man. With that being said, if anyone should be blaming their defense or line or running game in their career, its Manning.
Manning would take any team into the playoffs. Brady would not, as 1 example. You can stick Manning on jacksonville and they would contend.

    2 John Elway
5 superbowls, won the last 2, didn't have the greatest talent around him most of his career. Talented, athletic and could do it all.

    3 Johny Unitas
3 nfl championships, won the game known as the greatest game ever played. He put football on the map to television. Threw a td in 47 straight games which is incredible for back then

    4 Joe Montana
4-0 in superbowls . Montana was cool, 31 4th quarter comebacks, Superbowl ratings of 127.8
and played his best when it mattered.

5 Otto Graham: most people never even heard of the guy and its a shame. Its one reason why I don't like comparing era's, but we do and it will never go away. Some day someone will say that favre, manning, brady wouldn't even make the team in a future era which may or may not be true.

In ten seasons he won 7 out of 10 championships with Cleveland

6 Dan Marino Retired 1st in almost all major passing record for career and single season.
Best pure passer I ever seen. Most people reading this can't even name one player that played
on his defense or one running back he had. There is no doubt what he would do if he was playing today.

7 Terry Bradshaw: Never lost a superbowl, was 4-0, people want to say a certain player is good because they won superbowls, well then why isn't Bradshaw listed higher. Its not always about Superbowl wins.
In fact, here is one for you. He only threw over 300 yards 7 times in his career. Surrounded by Hall of Famers and could they have won that many superbowls with a different qb? Maybe, but who knows, but since Bradshaw did it, I put Bradshaw at 7

    8 Bart Starr
Green Bay didn't actually become title contenders until they replaced another qb with Starr and with basically the same team led them to 6 nfl championships in 8 years.
He was good when it counted . A very accurate passter

9 Tom Brady: basically on the list because of his superbowls and records. Had the greatest line of all time without a doubt. Not the biggest Brady fan. Hasn't won anything since Spygate. Lost 2 superbowls to Eli Manning . If he won one of those I would of put him in my top 5 perhaps. I disagree with alot of people. If Brady was on the colts for his career he wouldn't of even made the playoffs except maybe 1 or 2 times at the most. In the right system. It seems like they have won about 8 superbowls but have only 1 in the last ten years.

    10
6 Bret Favre: 3 mvp, superbowl winner, numerous records, played with passion and played a long career.
11 pro bowls 6 all pros

Sometimes you can blame the defense, running game or the coaching, but some players take it like a man and will take the blame while others will not.

Close to the top ten. Sammy Baugh, A rodgers,

almost any pro QB could have played QB for Denver today and won. Not taking away anything from Manning's career but he did almost nothing memorable today. Except throw an interception perhaps.

    loved watching every play

finally... his Kicker isn't missing kicks to win playoff games like Vanderjagt in Peyton's early years up through 2005 season

finally, his D isn't getting run over in the 2nd half or critical late game drives in the playoffs or in OT in the playoffs

finally, his special teams isn't blowing the game in the final moment after he lead the team to a GW FG drive and left less than 50 seconds on the board (final playoff game as a Colts vs Jets)

finally, his D isn't giving up HAIL F'N MARY'S to Joe Flacco to grasp a loss from victory with 30 seconds left in a game UP 7 points

finally, his center isn't snapping the first play of the Super Bowl over his head into the EZ for a safety and setting up the other team to go up 9-zip just like that and demoralizing the entire team

finally, his team isn't screwed by not having special teams ready for an onside kick... or stupid coaches going for long ass FG's in the SB when you don't have VINATIERI KICKING IT (Coach Caldwell of Colts in 2009 SB) instead of pinning the Saints deep (smart football)

finally, he wasn't pressed into trying to score on every damn possession... which always leads to QB's making mistakes and losing games

Peyton earned every minute of this game tonight. He goes out on top.

you mad about it? You didn't live through his entire career as a Colt and then witness the utter bs that happened to him as a Bronco, including being injured vs the Colts in the playoffs last year (yet they didn't say anything about it till after the season ended)

i feel happy for the man

time for Luck to have a defense built around him now like that one... get on it IRSAY you old Fuk!!!

Funny people say anyone could have won on that Denver team yesterday. Elway was along for the ride on his last title also, it was Terrell Davis who led them. Elway was not better than Manning.

Guy is clueless and does not comprehend the multiple layers of variables you cannot fairly judge starting with different eras and football being way different gm now than 40/50 years ago. And you cannot just look at rings football is the ultimate team gm and some amazing Qb's just always had bad luck or were couple key pieces short of winning.

Hell one could argue Bradshaw was more of a gm manager than he was elite qb who had best defense in football during his era. However would you seriously take him over Jim Kelly who was a more talented qb but lost 4 Sb's instead of winning 4? I've said time and again these lists are stupid mainly due to lack of good or unbiased analysis. But seriously Brady not even on list is laughable because his teams cheat. Op might wanna read up more on Burgh they were doing some shady in 70's to gain an edge it's been documented in books. And everyone of these guys played with teammates or had coaches doing dirty work to some degree I guarantee. Hell the guy topping the list currently in a cheating scandal himself and he's most likely guilty. Does it make him any less of a great qb during his prime? Hell NO!

Point being like most these lists people make you see it how you want to see it none of it based on very good analysis , usually heavy bias involved. You do know in 2008 Bradshaw admitted to steroid use right? Steelers have a long history of cheating everything from roids, illegal taping, they lost a draft pick in '79 for running illegal practices in '78. I could go on there is more but they are no exception and neither are Pats or any other team in these regards. So by virtue of your narrow wit take on Brady why is Bradshaw even on the list? Got it kid?

Montana just admitted his o-line used to grease up their uni's , and we all know about Rice's recent stick'em confession after it was banned. Walsh and Montana also faked headset malfunctions forcing opposing sideline to have theirs turned off to run scripted drives the defense could not adjust to.

Colts in recent years been involved with ped scandals and multiple accounts of piping in noise including vs Steelers and Pats in home playoff games a decade back. They ALL cheat don't understand why it's so hard for some of you water heads to figure out.

Brady and Montana top 2..you can flip flop that. Brady was great on road and he's as good now as he was ten plus years ago. Unitas is up there as is elway and marino. Not putting a 500 post se5ason qb in top 5..he didn't do anything to win this year peyton..Brady essentially tied the game at denver..cam got his clock broken. New England are favs to win next year as they once again have best qb in the game now.

    Elway's overrated.
    Terrell Davis carried that team.

    1997 playoffs:
    Elway 181yd/game 3TD/2int 58%
    Davis 145yd/game 8 TDs

    1998 playoffs:
    Elway 230yd/game 3TD/1int 52%
    Davis 156yd/game 3 TDs

elway: 336 yards final super bowl including 80 yard td pass and mvp at age 38. If you want to say davis carried team thats fine but then give him credit for dragging sammy winder and steve sewell to 3 super bowls. he had little to no help on those 3 sb teams. Not exactly loaded with HOF talent. Also, happy for manning but take away the comeback vs pats and his stats in playoffs are awful. This run carried by d this year just barely puts him at over .500 in playoffs. Look at sunday: pretty awful all game (didnt see ealy on pick? really?) then when pressure is off what a play to fowler. Facts back this over and over. Even his first sb win, where it could be said he "carried" team, he faced the all time worst qb in a super bowl in grossman. And his own coach dungy said dominic rhodes shouldve been the MVP. Tell me again how many qbs on this list had a chance to tie an sb game in the closing moments and threw a pick six? Manning is greatest regular season qb in history but pales in comparison to brady, montana, etc. in big moments in spotlight. His extreme intelligence betrayed him in those spots more times than not. 14-13 in playoffs does not make u best ever, especially when this years 3-0 run couldve been done by half the qbs in league with that d.

Bradshaw and Montana were surrounded by can't-lose talent and don't belong in the top 10.

    Elway
    Manning
    Tarkenton
    Marino
    Unitas
