    I thought Scotty Landau was closer to 275, might be wrong. Hell of a list though.

    JJ...

    Being a relative newbie, can you explain that some?

    The Shrink lost that much? Over what period of time?

    Way back in the day....when AOL was in its prime...someone use to post under the name "TheShrink" on its football selection page----would be ironic if that were the same person. He always claimed large winnings.

    Very very accurate list

    I'd put the shrink though at 2.56 million.. your 560k is too little. Shrink never bets good #'s.. he bets with his heart a lot too and bets on his fav teams like ODU and lots of favs.

    Brock landers at 456k is a bit too high. more like 189k. if he had 456k, he would be down 456k.

    BBD at 105k is not accurate. he's down 322k with his lifetime 38%. every cent he made moderating and working in his lifetime has been lost to gambling..

    altogether, very very accurate list.. Good job.

    Mine may actually be a bit low. Hard to say.

    Are we including the cost for countless cell phones/shades/televisions/car windshields that become collateral damage after losing games as well?

    Get back at me playa.

    JJ let me give you a honest run down of my short 7 year career and note these are rough estimates ...........

    2001 = +7,300
    2002 = -12,400
    2003 = -13,700
    2004 = -4,200
    2005 = +2,500
    2006 = -1,100
    2007 = -7,100
    2008 = +2,300

    -26,400 So put me on the list Pal

    that actually makes you a winner, not a loser. in the 8 yrs of gambling, you have lost exactly 3,300$ per yr avg.. or about 9 small dollars a day.. Just think how much you would have spent had you passed your time going out and spending money at movies, restaurants, gas, etc.... you'd have spent about 46,400 over 8 yrs instead of 26,400. you're basically up 20k..

    gambling made you stay home, and have entertainment that is much better than movies and dinner.. you can't beat this entertainment.. plus you get to stay home and be with wife and kids and relax.. for 3,300 per yr, you are a winner, not a loser.

    JJ, brilliant thread, not only accurate, but a good reality check for some of us. It's easy to invest some of your self-esteem in your units won and lost, but I think most of us can take today and just be truly happy that we've never accumulated that magnitude of losses during our years gambling.

    Nicky, that was an awesome way to put losing in perspective. I've never lost more than a dime in a year of gambling and I never even felt a need to rationalize the expense because it's such an enjoyable hobby for me. But you're absolutely right, with my love for concerts and plays, I'd easily drop ten dimes during the year on tickets to those events and travel/meals to go with them if I did spend many evenings at home to watch the games. Plus I eat better and healthier because I'm cooking for myself, and no worries of DUIs anymore because I typically pour my first drink with the first game and then I'm in for the night.

    You guys bring such a mature perspective and many wise insights to this forum, I'm humbled to be in your company. I hope you realize that when it comes your time to stand before the Maker, you will be able to point to the gifts of wisdom that you shared freely with the world through this forum as one of your good works.

    patty should never be on the list.. he's only down 1,200 bucks lifetime. hard to be down so much when your avg bet is only 3 dollars a game.

    jj, your list is pretty accurate. i can make a list too, but i would need 3 hrs and my list would contain 87% of which no one will have ever heard of before.. guys from the past at MW and rx... your list is pretty good though.

    bumps of threads started 4 yars ago are so awesome...

    but regardless of the truth of the list, which I am sure isnt very close at all, the facts are at least 3 of those guys are dead, for real. and maybe black lab is too not sure on that one.

    so anyone on the list, for fun or not might want to think about that a little bit.

    So does that mean the other $256K was scammed/stolen? These were circa 2009 figures too. Only worse now.
