Marlins agree to Stanton trade framework with Cardinals, Giants

Report: Marlins agree to Stanton trade framework with Cardinals, Giants

    by Jonah Birenbaum 21m ago

Drew Hallowell / Getty Images Sport / Getty

The ball is officially in Giancarlo Stanton's court.
The Miami Marlins have reportedly agreed to the general framework for a Stanton trade with both the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants, sources told Jon Morosi of FOX Sports, but the deals are effectively on hold as the Marlins await word from the reigning National League MVP as to whether he'd accept either trade. By virtue of his full no-trade clause, Stanton has the final say over any deal.

Stantons primadonna ass can pick Giants and live in mediocrity
fukk him ,hes acting like the Lebron James of the MLB
He wont win shit with this Giants roster ,plus they losing Joe Panic
as one of the players in the deal , team lost 100'games last year
and now losing their 3 rd best player , yeah im sure Stamton
going to take them from 100'losses to the playoffs with his insane contract
and getting to bat one time every 9 times , walk walk walk city
ismthe treatment he will get . But hey , the California kid gets to
still hang out on the beaches and apparently that matters more then winning

He be a idiot not to not accept a deal to the Cardinals
but i wouldnt want my team to have someone who isnt
fully committed to them on their squad anyways when the Cards
could get multiple players for the money and prospects they have

    Fidel is so pissed.

A couple of days ago he was sporting around a Giancarlo Stanton avatar showing him on the Cardinals.

Now he's pretending to not be butthurt.

The kid is an emotional wreck and I'm loving watching him fall from grace.

called being a real fan of sports and not just a sports bettor

of course id of like Stanton on the team , but not as much now

do you even know whats going on in all of this Giant

or is this another comment in our on going fake fued we put on

This is actually serious business for me man , Cards the only team

in all of sports that im a super fan of

Even other fans over the last week have come to the agreement that maybe Stanton

isnt worht it , especially since he cares more about the beaches and can opt out

in 3 years leaving the team on their asses

You use that betpoint lakerboy strangely gave you to build up your roll

sbr pros are spose to have betpoints here and there

be nice for them to use their superior farm system and cash available
to pick up either Yelich or Ozuna , then finish signing Longoria and their closer Colome

you from the Bay area right Giant
enjoy your shiny new toy for the time being
will this fix a 100 loss team ?

hes never been to the playoffs before , super rich , u would think winning
would be the most important thing , not getting a suntan

Ahh , no chance at having a real discussion with you on this
    enjoy your shiny new toy
Stanton crushes the ball but if the lineup around him is not dangerous
teams will just walk him ,Giants have 3 years to make playoffs with him

    Thanks , you as well
You got 3 years before he opts out
taking on a 300 million contract and sending 2 good prospects
and a already established mlb player in Panik for him
Hope it works out how ur expecting cuz I dont see it
Giants are a successful club but like the Angels and Pujols
this move could cost them comsidering where theynare at right now

Typical Marlins, always trade or do away with their best players after great seasons.

ouch , speaking of the Angels
if anyone knows the timing of a deal then its you guys
ONE PLAYER can strap you financially and fukk you like a x wife
and Angels know all too well

Stanton has a choice , a team in contention right now or the beaches
hes prolly going to pick the ocean view
He even questions Giants chances at competing

Any fan would want Stanton , but Cards usually make great decisions
Ozuna from Marlins would be a nice pick up , plus could afford a great reliever
and a established 3 rd basemen as well . Donaldson rumors floating but he would
    cost to much

The Giants fans have stated for the last 3 years that we just need a big bat. If they don't go after the biggest bat, it would be a major disappointment. Stanton and Posey could feed off of each other. Throw in Belt, Crawford and Parker, it could be a good 3 years. With a healthy Madison, Cueto, Shark and Moore, it will be a strong team. The time is running out for this core of players so now is the time.

BUt that same exact team , minus stanton lost 100 games last year

Was last in every offensive category but batting average , where they were 26th or something like that

Bringing in Stanton also subtracts Panik , who has given you all good offense and defense

IDK , I just dont see it . He will most def opt out after 3 years

Would of been nice to see Stanton in red but just like the Pujols thing

this could be a blessing in disguise for Cardinals .

oh my , just found out Cards offered more money than the Giants as well
so better prospects and more money
i have complete faith in the smartest minds in all of baseball which
is and always has been the Cardinals decision makers
but i kinda hope Stanton chooses the beaches he loves so much
over coming to St Louis tmhang out withnthe negroes in the midwest

More money than the Giants ehhh
thats a shocker, lets hope Mike Brown and Ferguson Missouri
keep Stanton out of St Louis
go get that sun tan and 75 win season you love out on the West Coast Stanton

our prospects are better than Giants and more moneynisnt worht it
It would be if hendidnt have a chance to opt out adter 3 years
but since he will most likely leave either team im now
(along with many die hard Cardinals fans) ready to move on to
different avenues with the leverage we have with money and a talented
    farm system .

Abreu talks with White Sox have been mentioned a lot

maybe get Abreu at first and either Yelich or Ozuna in the outfield

pick up a closer and call it a offseason

either way Stanton will make his decision within the next 48 hours

such an atrocity....jeter is even worse than loria...they shoulda sold it to Mas as my fish remain a complete joke.

all trash prospects back just to have them eat salary...fish should assume $100 million and then reap the benefits of someone's farm system

so , apparently Marlins want Cards young upcoming pitcher Alcantara
along wih Michael Wacha and Jose Martinez plus a lot of Stantons comtract
to be covered ...... its strange because one should be happy Reyes or Weaver
isnt in the package but out the trio of guys wanted i hate Jose Martinez
being traded the most, that dude can really center the ball off his bat ,
he smokes pitches and i see him being a big asset to the redbirds

Now Stanton will only be with whatever club he chooses for 3 years
so 3 years of Stanton or 3 more years of Wacha , i can part with that
Alcantara is unproven but hits 97 on the gun with ease

Overall Stanton has been rumored not to want to play away from the state
he was born in , so the Bay is why Giants have stock
But all reports indicate that Stanton likes Cardinals as a baseball culture
actually comsiders them one of the best , but understandably so
he also doesnt want to live in St Louis in a house outside of Ferguson Missouri
So once again , i may have been a little rash before but Stanton seems like
a overall nice guy and its his choice in the end , but Cards with him are
def World Champion threats , to where Giants with him MIGHT be above .500

This is going to come to a end very soon and its intriguing to say the least
ill give you that . Cards if that is in fact the trade deal and Stanton
agrees to St Louis , they will have the flexibility still to pick up
a solid sub ace pitcher to replace Wacha

Personally id rather get Yelich or Ozuna , then add Longoria and Colome
from the Rays , which immediately gives you a stud outfielder
a more than efficient 3B and a young closer who barely has a whip over 1.00

    1. Yelich -cf
    2. Carpenter -1b
    3.Fowler-RF
    4.Pham-lf
    5.Longoria-3b
    6.Dejong-ss
    7.Molina-C
    8.Wong -2b

or Ozuna instead of Yelich and

    1. Carpenter
    2.Fowler
    3.Pham
    4.Ozuna
    5.Longoria
    6.Dejong
    7.Molina
    8.Wong

As a life time Giants fan, I don't want anything to do with Stanton; the guy is a loser, and doesn't fit into the Giants dynamics.

I'm with ya bro, honestly I don't even want the dude as his actions are that of a scrub that doesn't care about winning (remind me again how many times his teams have made the playoffs??!),, I get la cooler than stl, but who gives a shit? During a season you playing ball practically every stinking night, on the road half the time, who cares where you staying during the season? Live wherever you want in the off season dipshit but if you a winner, have the desire to win, and want to cement a real legacy you come here in a heart beat (or sf for that matter but seems bitch boy only wants to play in Miami or la).

what I'm really hoping is he won't sign off coming here and stays in Miami or goes to San Fran then since we already have so much ground work done w marlins we work out a deal and grab Ozuna leaving us more payrole flexibility to still get another guy. Actually think that would work out better!!

I was happy when they let pujols walk too and unlike Stanton he was a winner. Never been big fan of 300 mil contracts. I'd prefer Ozuna and payroll flexibility for other players. Not sure what so funny about that, I'm sure you "want him".

I'm not trashing him for it, more power to him, guys be retarded not to take everything they can get. I just rather my team didn't pick up that tab, think you can get more bang for our buck with a cost controlled guy like ozuna and another 20 mil a year to play with!!

lol too many strictly degenerative sports bettors here and not enough pure fans of sports

Of course we will take Stanton , but as a long time fan of a team whos history is full

of their front office and powers that be making brilliant decisions

We understand what comes with Stanton .

Anyway you slice it , the flexibility to be able to sign , say ... a Ozuna , Longoria and Colome

Stud outfielder , legit defensive and offensive 3rd baseman and a young gun closer with a slightly over 1.00 WHIP

is more important in the overall grand scheme of things than having Stanton for 3 years and him having a

hard on the whole time to leave as soon as he can regardless of how much the fanbase treats him like a king

and how much success the team has with him on it .

Everyone wants the shiny new toy ... I get that... it enters my mind as well too

But everything comes with a price , and sometimes that part of the deal doesnt rear its ugly head right away

Now , if Stanton does sign im not going to diss the signing, I will be a bit hesitant though

But Wacha will be gone in 3 years anyways, Alcantara is unproven , and Jose Martinez is already 30

Although I love Martinez and the way he centers the ball off the bat, and graphs show his production

is no fluke with the exit velocity and so forth , BUT .... those 3 for Stanton id gladly take

Its the 250 million the Cards are considering taking on that gets me worried

if Stanton chooses St Louis over a beach house view in San Fran

Hey 2daBank , wanna let you know what I really think in all of this

I think the long talks to Marlins and the meetings 100% promises us if not Stanton

Yelich or Ozuna , (or imagine both) ((jacking off to thought)) (((came already)))

So if Stanton doesnt make up his mind (longer it takes the better shot Cards got)

and if we dont end up with Stanton then we 100% either have Yelich or Ozuna

Do you think Cards are giving up too much for Stanton ???

Its the $$$$ thing that has my mystified

Also remember we have had seirous talks with Longoria and his people before

It never came to fruition , but if Cards dont land Stanton

and we end up with Yelich ,Pham and Fowler in the outfield

and Longoria at 3rd ,Dejong at SS , Wong at 2nd and Matt Carp at first

as well as finishing the trio of moves off with a top 7 closer in MLB

then we will honestly be slightly more set than we would if we got Stanton and Stanton only

Here's were we can really have some fun ..... people prolly instantly assume that if we take

on Stantons contract this year we dont have a lot of money to reach the cap to get any

more All Star talent level players.... thats not true at all . We still would have close to 60-70 mil to spend

Dude ...that is leverage my friend.... assets, top 6-10 farm system , tons of money , and not close to cap

EVEN after the Stanton deal ... Cards seriously have a chance either way to make a huge splash in this

market that hasnt been seen from the Redbirds in a long time .

Something of this nature is actually possible (only thing that could stop it is Stanton )

    1. Fowler (.366 career OBP,speed aggressive in baserunning)

    2.Pham (23 homers in 444 at bats/ and .411 OBP ... 25 steals in 30 chances)

    3. Carp ( important to have him here, imagine the looks he would get in front of Stanton)

4.Stanton (possible 50 dingers at Busch... easier to hit out of then Marlins park)

    5. Longoria (had a kinda off year still cracked 20 homers and 90 ribbies .. year b4 that 36 homers)

    6. Dejong (the kid hit a team leading 25 homers in sliightly under 400 plate appearances

    7. Molina ( the professional , career .285 batting average and drove in 85 runs last year)

8 Wong /Gyorko (more speed, hit a solid .285 last year ...Gyorko averages 30 homers per 162 games)

Either are great 8 hitters to have. Even Hosmer instead of Longoria at 1st and Carp to 3rd

These are all very possible chances , money, salary cap or assets are of ZERO PROBLEM in deals not getting done

    1. Fowler

    2. Carp

    3. Hosmer

    4. Stanton

    5. Pham

    6. Dejong

    7. Molina

    8. Wong/Gyorko

Top
