He is one of the greatest tennis players but comparing tennis to team sports as far as who the best athletes isn't really apples to apples

    I agree.

    Tennis doesn't count.

    Soccer doesn't count.

    Water polo shouldn't count either.

If you are talking straight athletes. You need to talk about the guys who could have gone pro in multiple sports. Preferably basketball & football as they are generally more athletic than baseball players. Bo, Deion Sanders, AI, Randy Moss. Thorpe is a good one. Anderson Silva has to be up there if you are going to say Ali.

Bo Jackson definitely in that class as far as athletes. As much as I heart Jordan, Bo was a better athlete

Roger best tennis player of all time. Top 5 athletes would probably be 4 boxers from the 80s and Bo Jackson

Slapping around younger players in a game where you have to be really fit. That's greatness

    nino gets it

moss could have went Pro in BB easily.

But why do both, getting to watch all the white high school guys in WV trying to catch him on a weekly basis was the greatest thing ever on Friday nights.

And him and white chocolate on the same BB team was just plain unfair. And showtime is an understatement

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Jim Brown.

He was only the world's best in two different sports.

I thought of him right away. Supposedly never lost a race.

Read a bio on Thorpe years ago. Dude was so far ahead of his peers and if I remember played 3 sports for $$.

What's he's done this year is remarkable. He's playing ultra aggressive to shorten the rallies because he's the only player in the world who can pull off the shots to do it.

He might be playing as well as he did in his prime back in the mid-late 2000s.

I mean come the fukk on

if you want to say top athletes overall:

    bo Jackson

    deion sanders

a couple people from the decathlon that killed the competition certain years

specialists in a sport DO NOT COUNT for best athlete

we already know Jordan sucked at baseball so why would you include him for ATHLETE?

LeBron would be a better choice because MAYBE he could be a tight end

Remember kids its better to not try than to fail and know you suck
