    This is reasonable IMO.

You dump a bad deal and prove that you are still serious about winning to Westbrook. I definitely think they are still salty over losing Durant though, so they do this. Sabonis will be a fringe starter at the most, so no huge loss.

The problem is that you still have zero chance of winning the title next year as currently constructed. State is the biggest favorite in the history of Vegas in any American sport for next season of ALL TIME. Realistically, they are still 2 moves away from competing with them. Oklahoma is probably like 4th best in the west now. What he will lose in salary, he will more than make up in endorsements etc in LA. I dont see how hes gonna think this is much different than being in Indiana.

Does OKC get Blake Griffin now as well?

Griffin, Westbrook and George could challenge the Warriors.

I find it funny now that GSW dismantled the Cavs that guys forget how the Spurs were actually besting them when Kawai was on the floor. But somehow, GS is unbeatable?

Everyone saying OKC is stupid bc George is leaving in a year anyway aren't seeing the big picture.

Presti is dumping bad contracts and trying to acquire assets.

This trade gets him off the Oladipo contract and also might entice Westbrook to sign bc it shows that OKC isn't afraid to take risks and go after players.

OKC will end up paying George less than Oladipo anyway.

It wouldn't surprise me if they package George and Kanter for something. Essentially Presti is flipping his assets into flexibility and something better.

Worst case scenario....They're a top 4 team next year, PG leaves after the season, and they have an extra 80 million.

Westbrook will always keep you in games though as he's a fierce competitor.. Maybe if he had teammates that he could trust like Paul George he would pass the ball... He is a ball hog though like James Harden....

I think that's why KD left OKC, Westbrook dominated the ball to much for his liking.. Didn't want to be a side kick..

Only way you will beat this Warriors team in years to come is a major injury to Curry or KD.. They are a dynasty now and will win the title next year for sure..

Westbrook took a bad team to the playoffs.
Without Westbrook OKC would be one of the 5 worst teams in the league.

OKC has done a lot of winning with him.

If you're going to say you can't win with Westbrook, you would also have to name ever my other superstar not on the Warriors.

    Carmelo
    Jimmy Butler
    Lilard
    Anthony Davis
    Chris Paul
    James Harden
    Etc

I guess you can't win with any of those guys either.

Pretty much no one in the league is a contender with the Warriors in the league. This move at least makes OKC a team that can finish 4th.

It will take an injury to KD or Curry for anyone to have a chance. So quit saying, "Yeah but this doesn't make them a contender."

No one is a contender except Cleveland and hey just lost 4-1.

But don't you think guys here know whats best for the Thunder more so than Presti????

Its almost like the Thunder just didn't think much of Oladipo and were glad to get rid of him and his contract. How dare OKC for coming to that conclusion

    No kidding.

I keep reading on the internet people mouthing off saying it doesn't make them better than GSW. Well no shit. It's not like the Rockets are a contender because they got an aging CP3.

What team is going to contend with the Warriors?

Lebron, Kyrie, Love, etc could only beat them once in five games.

If Presti can dump Kanters contract it would be amazing. I like Kanter but it's not a big mans game anymore.

I don't see anyone taking Adams.

Tyron Lue fukked up that series. We should be looking at a 2-2 series before Lue found a way to blow game 3 in ridiculous fashion. He made zero adjustments and just gave the title to GS. The Warriors are not as unbeatable as everyone thinks. Iggy, their best defender is most likely out and you never know what you will get with Draymond. Those 2 guys are the glue to that team.

There’s a near-unanimous view around the league that Paul George will sign with the Lakers next summer despite Friday’s trade to the Thunder, writes Zach Lowe of ESPN.com. Lowe states that the chances of George heading to L.A. are about 75%, and the Celtics and Cavaliers had that in mind as they were working to obtain him.

The Lakers also subscribe to that view, which is why they weren’t willing to part with Brandon Ingram or Lonzo Ball to get George from the Pacers now. Lowe adds that Indiana didn’t have any interest in former Lakers point guard D’Angelo Russell, who was subsequently dealt to the Nets.

Great move by OKC if you ask me. Westbrook knows all eyes are on him after most said his playing style made Durant bolt. I believe he will work well with Paul George.
Warriors were not invincible in the last finals IMO. Cavs just failed to take their chance and I believe the Warriors might be better next year. Thompson wasn't up to his best offensively, likewise Green. Curry & Durant though, can work to be one of the best duo ever this offseason and cause more serious damage.
West is at least gonna be interesting while Lebron is having a free passage once again to the finals. LOL

Yeah but how late in the draft are those picks, and what year? What players? Can't get excited about picking 28th 3 years down the line. What good is Jae Crowder to a rebuilding team? Sabonis & Oladipo will be good for a long time. Nice trade under the circumstances.

Danny Ainge has ****** up. He overplayed his hand. He should have traded for Butler. Now he's upset about striking out on the two biggest trade prizes of the summer.
