what is your plan of attack now Sammy?

I'm thinking of selling a few more now but might just monitor and see what happens for a bit. When it's going up and down hundreds per coin, that's a bit too much of a roller coaster ride for me to stomach.

Quite a night. Picked up some here at $950. The play is get to $1000 before $900. I think it found a little floor at $900.

whatever you decide to do, don't buy or sell BTC on margin - lots of folks lost money today on this quick price drop

Nooo doubt. I do margin lending on Bitfinex and about 3/4 of my roll was returned overnight showing there was massive down pressure by market sell orders on margin calls.

Exactly...majority of everyday folks don't know a thing on how to properly use margin. It's easy to go over your head when you get to your disposal 3x of your original deposit.

    I slept through this correction.

Think there was value taking some under 900 though.

Let's hope it settles down again now.

    Don't know anything about bitcoin

Would it be accurate to say you could have had $1000 worth of bitcoin in some sportsbook in 2013, forgotten about it, and it would be worth 10 million now?

It was $13.66 on Jan 1st 2013. So your $1000 would be around $75000 now.

But it passed $1000 each in December that year, so you could have taken the same profit 3 years earlier.

It was $0.29 a year earlier than that so you would have made even more money in the 12 months prior to Jan1 2013.

There are a lot of these stories.

College kid bought some when they were .25 for a project. Bot 100 for $25. Forgot about them. WaaaLaa finds them and they are worth $100k. They traded as low as .07. Too bad we were not smart enough to buy $100 worth.

Also the completely opposite horrendous stories when in 2010 someone paid 10,000 BTC to get a 25-dollar pizza delivered.

Yeah turned out to be bad timing.

All the new users slammed with volatility to scare them.

It'll settle down again at some point. Which is what we really want as money transfer users of bitcoin.
