    Nasher's NFL Best Bets

    Detroit / Giants unde 42.0

Crapp weather, Lions offense likes to play time consuming drives, Giants offense is pretty much ODB and nothing else, Lions special teams kickers (Sam Martin, Matt Prater) are the best tandum in the NFL.
Prater is in Tuckers class as far as place kickers go, and Martin is the best punter in the NFL, he's on pace to break records in net average, his coffin corner ablity is uncanny.
These are some of the reasons why I think this game goes under.

    Lions +4.5 over Giants.

Lions keep it within a FG, out right win is not out of the question.

KC Chiefs / Tenn Titans under 43.0

Cheifs defense is totally legit, Marcus ain't going to be able to throw down field in those weather conditions.
Only worry here is defensive scoop and scores and pick sixes that could push the total to 45 or 48.
I'll take my chances, under all day. (Chiefs -6 is a strong lean as well)

SD Chargers + 2.5 (or 3.0 if you can find it) over Oakland.
Love home dogs for starters , but that's just me.
Oakland doesn't have much of a defense, SD loses Gordon, no problem.
Farrow has solid two way RB skills as he can catch balls out of the backfield.
Rivers is future Hall of Famer, Carr is not, and if Rivers has to throw ten more times because of the loss of his feature back, so be it, Inman and Williams are a nice WR1 and WR2 tag team, and Gates at TE might get more looks as well. Remember Gates is two TD's short of the all time TE record, don't think his pal Rivers doesn't know that for extra incentive.
One last point, Cooper and Crabtree are playing hurt, both are dinged up not 100 percent.
I'm sniffing pin ball machine numbers today out of Rivers.

    Best of luck fellas.

writing off Carr as not a chance to be a future hall of famer in his third season even though each season he has shown great promise is your typical bs but I see youre still sucking rivers dick. Good luck riding that worthless train

Carr is not sniffing any Hall of Fame with a 77 to 33 pick to TD ratio.
    Thanks for dropping by though.

Wait. Is this a serious post?

    Philip Rivers career stats:

    310 touchdowns
    153 interceptions

This adds up to a td:int ratio of 2.02:1

    Derek Carr career stats:

    78 touchdowns
    31 interceptions

This adds up to a td:int ratio of 2.51:1

Why would Rivers get in with a 2:1 and Carr won't with a 2.5:1? Is it all the immense postseason success Rivers has had in his career?

Couldn't agree more, and wasn't suggesting he's already a hall of famer. But in back to back posts, Nash claimed Rivers is a hall of fame player and then that Carr will never be with his 2.5:1 ratio, which is light years better than Rivers. Hmm.

Nfl all time leader in picks Farve is a hofer! Countless others Unitas , Fran, Marino, Peyton, Elway etc all high on list to name a handful. There goes your theory Nash! Come on your better than this man. If Carr wins just 1 ring and continues on current stat trajectory he's a sure fire hofer.

yes my response like that was based on over 100 threads of you acting like a know it all when youre not. In your other threads when people offer a dissenting opinion you go apeshit blasting them like they dont know anything. Then in the end you turn out wrong. Your act gets old and i dont want people here giving you credit when you are wrong consistently

Well Nash is a sharp guy in his defense. However despite the fact I'm a Raider fan the whole notion of Carr and hof is way too premature. With that said saying a kid in his 3rd year who has improved each season early on with VERY impressive stats for a 3rd year starter , and has so many leadership intangibles , and all the late comebacks at such an early stage won't make the hall is beyond absurd and flat out stupid.

People who fade my pick publicly with valid reasoning or correct me when mispeak respectfully always gets a polite response back from me.

And no, I don't know it all, just because you think I think I know it all doesn't make it true.

And I might have been a little tough on the guy, I'll upgrade my opinion to "the jury is still out on him". or I might go as far as saying he has a high ceiling.

There you go Nash! Smart , objective man like you should know jury is out on every athlete for 1st 5/7.years at least with very rare exception when it comes to hof worthiness. Yes his ceiling is high though and if he continues growing sky is the limit.

if Carr finishes his career with his current TD-INT ratio, which is actually 78-31 (2.52) he would be 4th all time, behind only Rodgers, Brady, and Russell Wilson.

    for comparison:
    Peyton Manning 539-251 (2.17)
    Drew Brees 462-219 (2.11)
    Philip Rivers 310-153 (2.03)
    Joe Montana 273-139 (1.96)
    Dan Marino 420-252 (1.67)
    Brett Favre 508-336 (1.51)

You brazenly and ignorantly claim 'Carr is not sniffing any Hall of Fame with a 77 to 33 pick to TD ratio' when in fact it would put him 4th all time in the history of the game if he kept it up - well ahead of many of the greatest to ever play. You then feel the need to get defensive and respond in an arrogant and condescending tone to anyone that disagrees with you, while ignoring the only other post in this thread that had factually statistical information in it. It's quite comical, and very unbecoming.

On his current pace he would have to play between 18/25 more years to get the int totals of many other hof greats Its not even worthy of discussion at this point and there is no point in the argument of this kind. Hes in his 3rd year for fukks sake!!

Absolutely killing it after every team passed over him in draft at least once. Continues getting better each year. Shows every intangible you want in a franchise starter , the toughness, comebacks, poise in pocket, can make every fukkin throw with pinpoint accuracy, improves each year, and is absolute model citizen far as we know. Seriously what else could you possibly ask or hope for in a young franchise QB and "Potential" future hofer? Absolutely nothing end of story.
