only because it replaced hollywood park (dates wise not quality wise) it's all they got out there. no golden gate this week. big carryover and that california chrome lure is the reason today.

    An answer and a correction.

    Q. BUT WHY THE IS LOS ALAMITOS so popular?

Answer : Because with Hollywood Park becoming a football stadium it is the only game in town until Santa Anita opens after Christmas.

Don't settle for it if you are not enjoying it. Screw them.

Correction is for this quote " Its the best day , you go in w/ few hundo and expect to lose"

Correct response: You go there with a few hundo and do everything you can to outsmart the masses.

If you do not succeed, you will next time. They will just keep it warm for you.

If you do succeed, that is the expectation going forward.

    Merry Christmas Kid.

    Best of luck .

CA Horse racing is in the dumpster and needs some kind of infusion to survive in the long term. They closed Bay Meadows and Hollywood park...and Golden Gate runs small fields during their racing calendar. They're lucky Del Mar decided to run an extra set of race dates and Los Al expanded their track to include Thoroughbred racing or they would have a huge hole in the racing season. Their Fair Season circuit is a poopfest as well.

I don't know about Los Al, but a birdie told me that Charlestown R3 #1 Pozzuoli is juiced up and ready to score. I'm hammering it. Go get some.

Because Hollywood Park shut its doors and they're trying to fill the void. I don't like it either. Seems to me the figure makers have a tough time with it. Time and again I see horses with big figures achieved at Los Al that don't fit in relation to the rest of their career .

Anyway probably best to call the time from Breeders Cup until December 26th the "off season" in racing

Los Al mostly runs quarter-horse races. Quick sprint, and it's done.

By being quarter-horse race, there is thought that one can identify a likely winner if they can identify raw speed. No turns, so very little strategy, other than run as fast as u can.

Is Los Al beatable w/ this method? One might think so. Problem is that this guy does the legwork:

    http://lesonaka.com/

My understanding is that he clocks the workouts and gives out his plays. They apparently do pretty well. Problem is...they also move the tote board significantly. So, back to square one...tailing him is seemingly a net loser!

They run lots of 4 1/2 furlong races...around a quick turn almost as much as the sprints

I miss turfway park. All my buddies are betting in heaven. I was 20 when I went there in 83. Learned to play gin afterward at the bar. I'm shedding a tear remembering all the good times drinking beer and telling kevin gomer that he is the biggest crook ever. penetrate YOU L KID FOR BRINGING BACK MEMORIES!
