I wonder how many of these pros would be broke if not for endorsements and ownership in poker sites.

Most poker pros are dead broke, never forget this. They are compulsive gamblers like us.

Yeah good question, he'll take a break till the heads up championship in April, at the latest, where he will freeroll. The guy is a brand name in the industry so he will have no problem getting paid for promotions in and outta poker.

i don#t believe in all the hype these alleged poker pros get,
these players are more or less solid players, who got lucky and reached the final table in one of the wsop tournaments.
I remember one guy , i think his name was moneymaker,he won the wsop maybe 6 years ago and he probably didn't't even know the difference between trips and sets and he still got a contract from a poker network and considered himself a poker pro

Probably from playing online too much. Online is rigged. It's my biggest conclusion of 2010 and will be by the end.

There's a vast difference between the Phil Ivey/Daniel Negreanu's of the world and the Chris Moneymakers. Good players win money over the long haul. Moneymaker is an SOB who got lucky once.

Exactly, if you win a poker tournament or even get a high finish you're a poker pro for life, if you get outdrawn day 1 you're a fish/donk that wasted your time and money, the guy that outdrew you and catches cards like god that tourney is a poker pro with a contract with full tilt or pokerstars or some other crap poker site that pays its poker pros millions to do gay commercials where they act like they can read your soul and are gods of poker

It suprises me that alot of these other so called "pros" don't go broke. Sorry to hear about Gus, but then again, he's been living the good life for the past 5 years, and probablly been partying like a rock star.

But the #1 reason not to play online is that the guys you are playin against are mostly solid players tryin to grind out profits like a job, these are the guys you should try to avoid at a casino, the drunks that give away their money dont exist online

Little chance that PS and FT are rigged. A lot of smaller rooms definitely are though. Too many squares beilive shit they're told.

He's up over a million this month online already. The guy is set for life a few million is nothing. His Full Tilt status brings in a bomb and he founded a poker software site in 2005 that sold to Betfair Poker for 15million USD.
He is a huge degen and a major sports betting square apparently also.

How to be a poker pro

Step 1 Get a contract with a major poker site for millions of dollars

Step 2 Lose it all playing poker

Step 3 Keep up the image like your an incredible poker pro that makes millions playing poker even when your down 6 million over the past 8 months and they're shuttin off the utilities

Step 4 Deposit latest poker site endorsement check and get your internet turned back on and finally get a card rush for a week winning over 1 million so that your only down 5 million over the past 8 months and everyone can claim your back and how smart you are for not giving it up
