No surprise, Tyronn Lue has the wrong game plan... again.

I have zero confidence the Cavs will win more than 1 mercy-game
via NBA head office orders or Warrior intention to win the Championship
    at home.

How in the world could any reasonable head coach think that speeding up
is the way to beat this Warrior team ? He's already shown mismanagement
of starter minutes, timeouts and bench.

Now, he thinks the Cavs will run n' gun the Warriors.

    Good luck with that.

The opposite would make more sense: Long offensive possessions, keeping
the ball out of their hands as much as possible. Careful, quality shots.
Draw the fouls, get to the line. Easier transition defense. Slow down the Warriors.
Slow down the game and play zone defense, dominate inside. That's East coast
    basketball. But no...

“Coach has given us a game plan, and we need to execute it,” James said after the June 3 practice. “If Coach feels like we need to play faster, then we do. We’ve got to push the tempo a little bit more offensively, see if we can get down, get some easy baskets and get into the flow of our game. It’s been a good thing for us throughout the whole season once Coach Lue took over, so we need to do that.”

Cavs played fast all season which led to great open 3 looks. They can run with them. I'm sure Lue being a player and a coach knows a lot more then u snowball

I'm still rooting for the Cavs, but expect them to lose.
    Coaching is their achilles heel.

I actually like the tactic. The Cav's are pretty deadly in the open court. Their half court offense is too much iso ball that allows GS to double team and strip/hack at the ball. Firm up all the defensive lapses and it should be a better game.

Uh huh. He'll probably wear out the starters like last game.
Push them to stay fast and get breathless. Let's see if he
plays Channing Frye this time. Or Mo Williams. Surely Mosgov won't, right?
I disagree with the notion that JR Smith's 3's will win for the Cavs.
No wonder why he kept Smith in last game with a bad hand.
The article says he thinks they need Smith to win it for them.
All he's doing is playing right into the Warriors hands.. playing THEIR style of ball,
playing to THEIR strengths, playing to THEIR pace.
Paco I have Cavs for series so I hope I'm wrong.

You know full well that was when OKC was up 3-1. That bet was made expecting
it to be Cavs vs. Thunder...then I saw the writing on the wall, when you were still
stubbornly unloading on OKC. I had Warriors ML in Game 6 and Warriors -6 in Game 7.

JR needs to move around the perimeter to get open shots when they double down. His problem in game 1 was that he was standing still which made it too easy on GS defense. All their role players have to move around and cut to the basket.

Cavs and Thunder very different teams. OKC's length was a problem for GS.
Anyway I wouldn't hold up OKC as some type of rulestick. They lost 3 in a row.

You know what's worse about all this is Lue announcing to the media what his
    game plan will be.

No coach should ever do that. Can you imagine Pop or Belichick announcing the

I don't know if Lue can out coach Kerr.

Lebron better step up his game. Guy needs 30+ and a triple double every night if they want the Championship Belt. Anything less won't get it.

I tend to agree with you on things, hahaha
    Yes this coaching is horrible.
Jr Smith is ineffective, at least dele plays within the flow of the game
    Guys are lost on defense
    G state uses moving screens.
This is the game plan I would use
When G state uses a moving screen, just shove the dude,
I would keep doing this into the refs are forced to call a clean game
Would start mucking up this game so ugly like a heat vs knicks game 1997
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pduoBE_xd64

Who is running the cleveland offense? The point guard needs to run this show.

Also Lebron James needs to get the ball on the move, and there is no reason for a skip pass
when there are no double teams.
So I would get these guys the ball with more movement,
Post up Love alot more, and get him the ball in his spots.
Mozgov should be getting around 17 minutes a game
Tristan Thomposon misses too many ez put backs
The key would be on defense I would just start the holding, and hand checking since
the warriors are getting away with moving screens

    They won 3 out 4

In the 4 games they lost, they had 2H leads. In every game they played gs this year except game 7, they had a 4q lead.

So ya, okc is the rule stick for how to beat gs.

Okc had length and athleticism. Warriors players couldn't get free looks. Now the cavs are more worried whether a scrub like Frye can get shots. If your nba title hopes depend on Frye you have no chance.

It's a shame, this was OKC's last shot for a title. Durant did choke but in any case he is still one of the best. He will be gone in free agency and a year after that Westbrook will be going somewhere as well. Then OKC will be a basement dweller for the next twenty years.

Shaq/kobe and jordan got 1 nba title combined without phil. Just 1. That was shaq and he got that with riley. How many titles have the bulls/lakers won since phil left?

What LeBron is doing with that quote is distancing himself from the overall strategy so that media pundits (and people on gambling forums) point the finger at someone else besides him. It's a running theme in his career, and entirely unnecessary.

Exactly. First he made sure to point out gsw are a team ( so to infer curry is not mvp). Now he is busy saying "coach says we do". If it doesn't work he will say they tried to execute the game plan. If it works he will get all the props with a triple double.

What advantage would that even have?

If the Cavs say they wanna play uptempo and then come out and play molasses half-court crap, wouldn't Golden State defend accordingly? It's not like they had much trouble defending that in the first game, would you expect them to just forget how because they were mentally prepared for the run n' gun?

Kerr is AI stepping over Lue. Complete mismatch. OKC played fast, but had two bigs in the game as well that caused issues especially with second chance opportunities. They can run all they want, but GS defends the three point line very well, and their offense will keep up just fine.

Run Fast on offense so GS can't double. Get back on defense. Not sure why you think an uptempo offense means gaping holes on defense? The Cavs need to speed their offense up is all he's saying. Whenever they passed the ball into Love and Lebron, GS double teamed them. They hung onto the ball too long. Make quicker decisions to find the open guy.
