"Nine-time winner Rafael Nadal has pulled out of the French Open because of a wrist injury. The Spaniard had progressed to the third round with a straight-sets win over Facundo Bagnis on Thursday - his 200th Grand Slam victory.
"Yesterday I played with an injection," the 29-year-old told a news conference on Friday.
"Yesterday evening I started to feel more and more pain and today I felt I could not move my wrist.""

The implications of this will be interesting. Djokovic will now move into around $1.50- $1.60 imo, Thiem into around $25, Tsonga $40. Other side not really that affected I imagine because either way, they're likely to play the Djoker. Loving my futures that I placed now, cashout is going to skyrocket.

Good news for Djoker futures holders, at least I hope so.

Djokovic $1.45, Thiem $17, Tsonga $51, other half not affected for obvious reasons.

After the Sharapova shenanigans anyone think this is more then meets the eye?
Seems to be less of a surprise to him then he led on

Probably wouldn't have beaten Djokovic but he'd been playing better of late. Would've been interesting to see him make a run.

Doesn't matter, he wasn't winning it anyway. Guy has declined so much I wonder if he thinks about retiring soon. too many injuries and Djoker has his number so he's not going to be #1 again

Gasquet and Tsonga have no shot

Two players that are very limited in how far they can go in a tournament

comments from French ex- minister of sport comes to mind...That Nadal might be juicing.
after hearing what happened with Lepchenko, everything is possible.

If his wrist has been so bad, why was he playing in the earlier clay tournaments? Wouldn't you rest it for the French Open???

I know he had garbage opponents early but to still beat them easily was my surprise that he had been playing injured those games.
The latest mail I have heard from that court case is Nadal is 100% certain he will win it and any money he wins in damages he's giving to charity. Not that that means much.

guys body has taken a beating, probably the most physical player on the entire planet. Guy hates losing practice points even, wants to win every point and gives it his all. I miss the young and fresh Nadal in his capris. Damn time flies. He has lost power and speed due to age and combine it with the injuries.
