Mike Tirico leaving ESPN/ABC to go to NBC

Pretty big deal in the sports media world. Probably the most versatile announcer in sports. Looks like NBC has found the heir apparent to Costas at the Olympics and Al Michaels with Sunday Night Football.

This is a BIG SURPRISE in my eyes.

I always thought Tirico was LOYAL. Guy never EVER said anything prejudice etc while commentating.

NBC must of REALLY REACHED DEEP in their pockets.

    Curious to know the salary.

I like him. His work is solid. ESPN is a company that caters to special interest groups.

Now ESPN will have to find someone else to huddle around a small table with Gruden

Hard to believe Tirico wasn't under a lengthy contract? Totally shocked on that one to.

I guess when your stock is high.... might as well see how much you can get?

ESPN is all about finding the most diverse group of people who will take the least.

expect some She-ra that wants to use the men's room to take over

Maybe ESPN can bring in Al Michaels to call the Monday night games.

That's the man that should be on Monday night.
