What makes people think the Cavs are a Championship team?

An ordinary Jazz team (without three key players) are beating the Cavs by seven in the 3rd quarter as I speak.
    Cavs are making stupid turnovers.
Irving is not an elite point guard, he's good, but there are 10 better PG's in the league.
JR Smith is so overrated it's laughable.
Smith for 11 pro seasons averages 13 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists per game.
Kevin Love is an better than ordinary power forward, not close to elite, and Mozkov is a horrible center.
    Their bench is weak.

A nine man Memphis team started a bunch of scrubs last week and beat them outright.

Like I said, what makes people think this team is a quality team?

The jazz winning here is not a big thing. James loses every year in utah. Since 2008. Cavs going into thin air off a blowout win in la this was easy.

Agreed. Cavs won't make it out of the East. Even if they do they win 2 games MAX vs Spurs/GSW. Irving is a liability. Same with Love.

Lowry is having a better season and for this year I would easily have him over Irving. Obviously Kyrie is only 23 so you'd want him long-term praying he stays healthy. Still not a fan.

2 games vs the Warriors is better than just about any team in the league could do.

Irving is a 20 point a game scorer, Lowry 21 a game, Lowry averages 6.5 assists a game, Irving 4.5

Because they're the best team the East has to offer, especially star wise.

Toronto - nobody outside of Canada cares about the Raptors. Derozan and Lowry are good but not Elite.

Boston - solid team, no big stars, inconsistent

Miami - Wade and Bosh are old and washed up, rest of the team are youngsters with potential

Atlanta - again no big stars

Hornets - Quietly solidifying playoff spot, no huge stars

Indiana - Irrelevant except for PG

Chicago - should be way higher, aging team with two Solid but not elite players in Rose and Butler

Does it matter though? In the end they can't beat golden state and even if let's say curry tears his ankle to shreds they can't beat the spurs. Why do people make these threads? I get the wanting to start a discussion but there's absolutely zero chance for any team in the east to win a title this year so it's pointless

The only team that has a slight chance of beating Cleveland in the East is a healthy Miami team with bosh. You guys are clueless. Leave judging 7 game series to experts bro. Who's gonna guard James in the eastern conference for 7 games? Straight clueless ppl in this thread. Love is a medicore pf Nash says. Lol this guy has no clue what he's saying. Just judged teams based on regular season games. Sign of a true rookie.

    1. Lowry and butler are elite. Butler is a top 10 player in the world. Easily. Rose is not even, better than pau gasol, not even close. Gasol is an elite player as well. One of the best 7 footers in the nba.

    2. Wade averages better numbers than 95 percent of the nba . so 95 percent of the nba is washed up? You won't find 10 players in the world with better playoff numbers this season than wade will have. U can put the bank on that. Guy shows up when it's time. Bosh too.

Lowry is slightly better but a case can be made for Irving. You're judging who's a better player based solely on stats? Stats are important but there's other factors. 1 Guy is the 2nd arguably 3rd option on a team where as the other is the number 1 option. Clearly his stats will be better. You're clueless about basketball bro. I bet u cant even hit a 20 ft jumper

Lebron James is the reason people think that. They are a Brad Stevens type coach away from multiple NBA titles but that needs to happen urgently before King James starts to decline.

Did you fail reading comprehension, I said earlier in this thread Love is "better than ordinary power forward, not close to elite."

Anthony Davis is elite. Love is not, he's better than ordinary, he's not elite.
Draymon Green is going to break triple/double records, Love can't do everything Green can do.

Hard to debate someone who can't comprehend reading at a 5th grade level.

First off I'm using stats to back my case, it's not the sole reason for my argument.
It's established you can not read at a 5th grade level, it's also established now you are clueless in the science of forensics.

    Make a 20" jumper?
    That's not difficult.
I once made 19 out of 20 free throws once on a bet when I only had to make 15, free throw line is 15 feet, move back 5 feet, I bet I can make 4 out of 10 from 20 feet and haven't touched a ball in 5 years.

    Carry on slick.

Because they will walk through the east.

They competed vs golden st last year in the finals and won 2 games with no love or Irving.

So why wouldn't people take them seriously? They are sleep walking through the regular season while golden st is going all out trying to set the record. Golden st should win, but wouldn't surprise me if Cleveland gave them a fight. Also wouldn't surprise me to see Spurs come out of the west. No team in the east goes more then 6 games vs Cleveland
