Not just a homer pick - Fairfield Stags +8.5 over Monmouth

Stags peaking at the right time, winners of 7 out of their last 8, quietly getting it done.
Monmouth has been making all the noise, Fairfield has been going unnoticed.

Like I said winner of 7 out of last 8, 19-12 overall, Monmouth giving them 8.5 is very generous.
Stags to keep it very close, gimme the points.

Oh, did I mention I'm a Fairfield Connecticut homer?

    Go Stags.

Hopefully Monmouth wins their tourney, we don't need a bunch more teams getting automatic bids that don't belong in the dance

Well all I know is looking at who they have beaten this season makes me believe they are the only team in that conference with any chance of winning in the tournament. They beat ND, UCLA, USC, and Georgetown which is pretty impressive for a Metro league school.

However, this was very early in the season as the west coast teams did not take Monmouth seriously.

Value in the 2nd semifinal stevenash... Siena getting too much respect because its on their home floor but Iona is playing the best ball in the MAAC right now and are humming along at a high level, home court won't matter. Iona is the team to beat in this league

They don't go to Mexico anymore, the kids go to the islands now I hear.
My wife's best girlfriend went to Fairfield, she was a senior when Fairfield went to the tournament.
Fairfield v. Bobby Knight's Hoosiers. (guess how that turned out) the year was 1987, Nashy was a youngster back then

I'm 7 and 3 last 10, quick search of my posts will prove that out.
