    Is america a democratic nation?

Just curious. Never see any change in the terrible political process that decides who will lead the free world.

Funny how all other elections in other nations are labeled rigged but the American politcal process I completely rigged.

    Cooch check in pal.

Jews predetermine outcomes. No voter sees proof of votes etc. Completely rigged on an archaic system.

    America is a Democratic Republic

Meaning we vote for a few people to vote on our behalf, for people to make all the decisions for the rest of us.

Democratic? We are a god damn terrorist nation when it suits us... a lot of HATE under our belts...

the fact that many Americans still believe the shit they taught us in school - AND THE SPIN THAT IS PUT ON HISTORY - is what concerns me ...

actually living around people that do not know the answer to this question concerns me...

just a few too many FACTS out there for it (the question) to even be considered.

whether or NOT the United States is a democracy?

some people, too many actually are afraid to think for themselves, the freaking facts are there, that we are NOT... the text books had/provided the desired effects it seems !!

Just remembered, the O P is Canadian. It should be even easier to know (that we are not democratic) from outside the US.

Votes have a power ranking...there are pros and cons because smart, intelligent people with little $(backing) are not heard as much as the people with more $, and people with more $ tend to want to keep that $ so they vote for what favors them and not the average person...

people are so fukked in the head by all the bullshit that's put out there that you could put the hamburglar and Ronald McDonald in the running and one of them would be the next president lol.

Nation is too divided by regions that all want different things and many are blind to reality and still follow archaic religious thoughts.

Democracy in part but almost tempted to say part theocracy and part socialist also due to the influence religion and government has in politics.

Part i dont get with that is 100 years ago you lot were mostly athiests and if not for war you'd probably still be that.

As a result you'd be far more socially advanced of a society but playing the 'what if' game never got anyone anywhere right?

Is there such a term as democratic authoritarian because personally that's how alot of outsiders see USA these days....

Strongly disagree. We are as secular now as we've ever been. We were a bunch of athiests 100 years ago? How? Church was a much bigger part of daily life back then, and most known music even was mostly sacred or had a sacred lean to it.

Ever heard of the phrase 'God bless America' amongst presidents and politicians?? The separation between church and state is almost non existant in USA. Such religious influence within not only politics but wider society in general simply doesn't exist in most other 1st world countries, so the argument that your a secular country hardly holds credibility when put under even minor scrutiny.

Could go on but wont as the history of America and religious influence is embarrassing when looked at through a 21st century lens...

ralphie is correct from a day-to-day perspective. regardless of what the rest of the world is doing as far as religion goes, america in general is much less religious than in the past. i've been to church in america plenty in my life, cooch, and it's not uncommon for the topic of the sermon to center around the decline of organized religion, church attendance, decrease of people who identify as christian in america, etc.

however, coochy is right from a voting perspective, i.e. old fukks voting at their church makes up most of the voting public.

Well the democratic way would be to have a vote nation-wide and divide votes after that. In the US sometimes one candidate can get less votes but still win election. That could be considered undemocratic.

America is the birthplace of democracy. However, when the country is threatened with war it turns quickly to dictatorship.

The governance system is based on Roman empire. Military superiority prospers in democracy which becomes dictatorship during war.
