as always Steven A Smith says it's racist.
just like Jason Garrett and Jeff Fisher are only keeping
their jobs because they are white.

Don't worry as Cleveland will do Cleveland things and hire Lovie Smith within a week.

Bucs have finished last in the division 5 straight years. It doesn't matter who is coaching. They won't win 6 games next year

Not that it would really move the needle, the Browns will still be the Browns, but it would actually be a surprisingly good move for them. But I doubt they will.

Of course he did. Lol. Predictable. Why don't someone tell him if he wants to hire a coach based on skin color, to buy an nfl team.

I never understood the man crush and love fest that most people have for Lovie Smith...His career record after 11 years in the NFL is 89 - 87!...a whopping two games over .500!......the very definition of mediocrity...and has only made the playoffs 3 times in 11 years as a head coach...that's not acceptable in today's era of free agency and salary cap.

During an appearance with Colin Cowherd on FOX Sports Radio, Smith said he thought he had the Bucs “set up to really take off in Year 3” and said he was surprised and disappointed by the move.

“I definitely think there should be more patience. It takes time,” Smith said, via the Tampa Bay Times. “If you make a change, there’s something that’s wrong, and you can’t just flip a switch. Things don’t happen overnight. You have to have a plan going in and stick with that plan. When I took the Tampa Bay Buccaneers job, I thought there was a plan in place. I thought that plan was being put into action. When you’re the boss, though, you can be impatient. Normally the franchises that do take their time and give you a chance maintain that level of success.”

Lovie Smith’s tenure at the University of Illinois is reportedly coming to an end.

Multiple outlets reported Sunday that Smith will not return as the Illinois head coach in 2021. Over five years coaching the Illini, Smith compiled a 17-39 record with just a 10-33 mark in Big Ten play. Illinois reached one bowl game along the way, losing to Cal in the Redbox Bowl in 2019.

Smith, 62, arrived at Illinois in 2016 after 11 years as a head coach in the NFL — nine years with the Chicago Bears and two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Lovie didn't really do all that bad. He was a bad hire but leaves them in a decent spot. They at least did not go backwards. I thought they should have hired Babers before who probably would have done a little better but not much. Illinois is really bad at hiring coaches. I don't like their chances. Don't even know who I would hire.
