Arrieta NL Cy Young? That's fkn awful. Greinke gets hosed.

Arrieta was unbeatable the 2nd half of the season, but Grienke definitely got fukked here.
Lowest ERA in like 30+ years. He was fukkin 19-3 LOL. Jake lost 6 games.
Feel bad for the guy, he should have won it easily.

No one's saying Jake didn't have a great year, but Greinke's was WAYYYYYY better than his.
What more could he have done?

    Shouldn't have even been close.
Anyone with actual baseball knowledge knows this.
Greinke didn't juice either like Jake did.

Yup, this is 100% accurate and why it's a travesty to just forget about one of the greatest seasons (greinke) an MLB pitcher has had in our era.

It is not about the best pitcher.

Clearly states that the award is to be given to the pitcher whose play best resembles Cy Young's.

Grienke put up best year long body of work. Only thing is he pitched at dodger stadium.

I'd debate it with him, but we're talking about a guy who once said statistics and math have nothing to do with baseball.

Now the idiot will two things, come back at me with some lame fat wife crack that's so tired and lame, and he'll deny he ever said that at which point I'll produce the link.

    Cue Benny in 5...4..3..2..1..

Arrieta was the benefactor of an extremely lenient strike zone for a lot of the 2nd half and the playoffs. Wouldn't have been my pick.

Greinke benefited from pitching at Dodger Stadium. Arrieta had a much lower ROAD ERA. Remember what happened the one time Arrieta did get to pitch at Dodger Stadium? At one time, the ERA gap was large, but it ended up 1.69 vs. 1.77, which is pretty negligible. Everything else pushed in Arrieta's direction:
    - 22 wins (Greinke not a 20 game winner)
    - the no-hitter
    - the ultra-historic second half and last couple months

Not sure where you get off saying Greinke's season was wayyyyy better. Arrieta had the slightly better case, but it was fairly obvious and so it would clear that it would go that way. No, there wasn't a lot more Greinke could have done, but that's just how it goes some seasons.

The interesting thing is that as late as July 25, their respective ERA's were:
    Greinke 1.30
    Arrieta 2.61

In just over 2 months, Arrieta closed the ERA gap from 1.31 runs to 0.07 runs. So what could Greinke hhave done? He could have dominated August and September like Arrieta.

Either was a good choice but Jake was the proper choice

    MLB got it right

Weren't you the dim bulb who predicted that the Cardinals would be -220 to -250 series favorites against the Cubs? It was perhaps the dumbest thing I've seen on this forum in 10 years. And that is saying quite a lot.
