True but it's ugly and in the playoffs those lame duck throws in weather are going to be an issue ....that defense though is nasty so He might be able to manage it.

If he didn't have top notch D this team be 3-13 is the point JJ! He never had much defense in Indy and never had rifle for arm. But was good enough to overcome his own weaknesses and rest of teams with brains for most part....and oh yeah always playing in pathetic div. This point whatever arm he ever had is mostly shot and brains is only thing keeping him barely relevant.

Why is it sad? I think it's awesome. Let him live his dream as long as he can. They're 5-0 and regardless of his diminishing physical abilities, he's still the smartest qb in football.

Still every bit smart as Tom or Aaron....just lacks physical tools those guys have! Your talking 1-2 best all around qb's in gm at this point LB. Overall with physical tools included Manning MIGHT crack top 10 still and that's all brains.

You're joking right? His defense carried him the year he won. Those teams literally never lost once because of the defense. It was always because manning came up small. Every single time.

I guess people forgot that Elway was basically a game manager at the end of his career, and they won a SB because of his supporting cast.

Peyton not winning a.SB this season! Defense is very good but let's not make them 85 Bears or 2000 Ravens good cause it's not. Obviously this point they win div with Oak MAYBE winning 6 tops, KC showing their true colors as always, now best player out, Diego being bums they always are. Think another div title good as it gets, lose in playoffs maybe to Brady like ALWAYS for Peyton. Off season comes and Elway ready to move on. Let's face it Elway didn't care this year if he came back and 1 more failure in postseason and Johnny gives him boot I think.

Manning been great no doubt, great ambassador for gm, smart as they come behind center, didn't always have "complete" team to work with or show well in postseason but still 1st ballot career no doubt. Some point you just have to realize when a name has become overvalued and not worth much long term. Peyton Manning is that guy brain tools aside and just what's left physically can anyone say yes honestly not BOTTOM 10/12 in league??? Put him on Tampa or Bears for 5 seconds and get back to me lol.

Peyton Manning has no weapons on offense and he's not throwing off play action passes anymore.. The opposing defenses are not respecting the run.. Peyton is not fooling any defenses anymore in other words... Manning is the same fellas, it's the team offense that is struggling more then anything else..

Luckily, Denver has defense and they are 5-0. This team will improve on offense as the year continues and if Peyton can stay healthy, but they could start losing games on the road..

They did get lucky today with that pick 6....

They would be smart to trade for a QB asap or season is wasted considering they are 5-0. Not a chance he last 16 games nor would any intelligent fan want him to. Not enjoyable saying it but he is clearly shot and it is only a matter of time before it gets real bad. He isn't going to get stronger as the season goes on and he is playing like crap, OL isn't any better which is another reason they need a younger QB. Better to change soon than week 12, I'm sure they are thinking about it.

Would make more sense at 5-0 to bench him and save him until late season/playoffs if you actually believe he can compete.

Anyone read the report about how hard it is for him to get his gear off at the end of a game? Guy needs to retire, he won a SB and everyone knows he was robbed of one because sean payton crazy.

Brooks nailed it!!! Jibby way off mark Manning defender it seems. Denver has o-line and Peyton dead arm issues plain and simple don't blame skill players!! If Donks had a decent o-line and qb who could spin it and play smart no doubt legit contenders. Fact they are short in those 2 regards = welcome home early postseason which won't work for Elway.

A lot of HOF quarterbacks didn't have a great last year(s). No big deal. He gets to play as long as he wants, he's earned that privilege.

Yeah Ralphie so did Farve!! Sure he did what Brett always did and throw crucial pick but that was Farve at 30 too not just 40! Fact is nobody gave him any leverage late in his career despite fact he still threw better ball than 85% of league at 40! Instead most got suckered into espn agenda catering to young impatient kids and wanted to know NOW what's Brett gonna do?? Bret said Fukk you punks I won a ring, league mvp, and don't need to make decision this late in my career till I'm ready. Least Farve could still spin it at 40 unlike Peyton! Media won't dare put their golden boy in bad light is difference. Give me Farve last year with Vikes at 41 any day and twice more tomorrow over P.M. at 39 today!

Farve was an attention whore and he threw more picks in his later years then most NFL QB's. The guy truly should have walked away sooner then he did but he wanted to be in the spot light because he has to have attention. Manning is a shell of himself and he was last season also. He will never win another SB so staying in the NFL is stupid. At least 5 teams are far better then the Broncos and their record is a farce.

Favre always threw picks I believe hes all time best in that department. If memory serves right though he didn't throw many last year with Vikes around 3/1 td to pick ratio. FACT is despite all the hoopla he could still throw a football with the best. Peyton cannot this point and not even close.
