I usually go 2.5%. I've had like 60% of my BR in play on some college Saturdays, but I don't stress it because hard to get hurt unless you pull like a 5-25 day.

I follow this practice religiously, with the only exceptions being opening night of NFL and the Super Bowl. On these games I typically wager anywhere between 60-80% of my bankroll.

This is how money is made.

There are exceptions to the rule. Bigger plays can take up 10% of BR.

Worst case is you lose and readjust BR and grind back.

It's not worth it if you're only betting 20 a game

This is assuming you have a BR that you are trying to preserve. Most guys are loading up a couple hundred bucks trying to heeb it up. If they lose they reload or if they run up they cash out some and leave a few hundred to play with.

I could never do 60% in futbol if you're in bad form you could actually lose most of it.

American sports I prefer to spread out the action if you know what you're doing

2 or 2.5% a tad on the conservative side. probably works but 4-5% makes it more interesting. LT a grinder, but if you have a job (most on here don't) bet with both fists.

25 years of gambling and what has worked best for me in the past - Just something to consider and my take....

Gotta take a shot and load up when you see an extremely strong angle every once in a long while or life and gambling becomes a grind..

If you lose that big bet - you don't chase it, you take the hit, forget it ever happened and start over at rebuilding the bank roll with conservative play. Don't dwell on it.. Forget about what your balance was and except what your balance is... It stings for a bit but let it go...

If you win the big bet - you go back to the conservative play and wait again for that next great play to pop up in the distant future.

When and if the bank roll balance ever really builds up for you don't cash out all the time but instead make alot of smart future pending bets so that you have a large portion of your bank roll winnings tied up in pending futures.. You'll never have to reload if you do that when you hit a really bad dry spell gambling. Bets are always cashing and coming in weeks and months down the road...

I personally can find one really solid lock once or twice a month or sometimes it may even take a little longer.. Keep in mind I bet multiple sports with maybe 5 to 10 even key bets worth of action daily.. So I'm very patient in waiting for that diamond in the rough to pop up..

Those big plays usually are not a main stream well known plays either, but a little unknown team and or fighter that no one is looking at... Better chance of hitting those as a big play bet if you know what you're doing..

Something to think about and I hope I helped someone out with this post...

Does this advice apply if Clayton Kershaw is pitching and you have $7,100 at your disposal?

Currently at 1.5% with 3% bets sprinkled in every now and then (this past week on atl vs cowgirls for example). Should never be higher then 2-3%

I took SF at home with the Garner on the mound... Kershaw's been a little hit and miss lately.. Was gonna make it a no play but those odds at +120 I just couldn't pass up on.. I'm a Dodger fan too and live in LA..

I frequently visit Dodger Stadium every year, in fact AC/DC was playing in concert their last night.. Thought to mention that for some reason...

    Pretty much this.

If you only have $1000 to your name and that's the only bankroll you'll have for the next year, then yeah, you probably shouldn't be playing more than in the $20-50 range.

I doubt that's a real situation anyone is in though.

I was referencing jj's huge bet on the Dodgers a week or two ago; I've got my standard bet on SF +120.

If books could force losing gamblers to follow bankroll management, they would in a heartbeat. JJ, chew on that.
