Peculiar trade, as they already have a capable Jose Reyes and they need pitchers

Reported by ken rosenthal, Twitter is getting word of it. You'll probably start seeing ESPN flashing it soon.

Well since you know everything first, who is Toronto sending in return?

Flipper settle down, we need the full details to assess this trade fully. Who reported it first is irrelevant unless you are TMZ.

7 posts in a 12 minute time frame in one thread is impressive and possibly pom material.

I'm hearing they've told Reyes not to unpack his bags and he might be flipped by the Rockies, anyone else hear this?

Jays need arms, not more hitters. But man oh man is that offense going to be unstoppable

Latroy Hawkins reacts to bluejays trade.

He looks good for 87 years old.

This Jays team is probably the best offensive team of the post-steroid era... would be a very interesting series if they face Kansas City in the playoffs. Ive been saying for a month now that the Blue Jays have the best chance to take down the Royals. Royals still a big fav to come out of the AL imo, but would be a great series if the two teams meet. Yankees are convincing me they have a shot too. I think the Yanks have passed the Angels as the 2nd best team in the AL.

Have you seen Reyes play defense this year bite?

    He's turning into Chuck Knoblauch...

He's making mental mistakes every game....his confidence is shot.

This is a great deal for the jays depending on the prospects going to the Rockies.

Has Reyes gone on any roid rages against any girlies like ol Chucky?

Who's gonna PITCH for the Jays, boe?
    Effin Weeder?

Spinning their wheels... already had plenty of offense ... and I'll go on record that Tulo is so-so hitter for Jays down the stretch of this season.

But yes, better defense.... hear ya there.

BTW, Mike Francesa (who has an ear into Reyes's camp) said earlier this year Reyes was very unhappy in Toronto and would love to get out of there, preferably back to NY. Guess he's had his head up his ass for awhile mentally and subconsciously forcing the Jays to do something with him.

But, GL, my friend... and maybe, just maybe... Weeder can be a 7th inning guy.

Reyes would be perfect fit for the Dodgers. They get a shortstop better than Rollins and finally get a guy who can bat lead off. Dodgers with Reyes would be clear cut favs to come out of the NL imo. Biggest weakness on that team is leadoff hitter.

I second that. They wouldn't take Tulo so they swapped out SS.

There is no way he's staying in Colorado.

Memo to Toronto you need effin pitching and defense so what do you do? You trade your run scoring base running machine Reyes for an over the hill Tulo who is now the third best hitter in Colordo behind Arenado and Cargo and gas can Latroy Hawkins

    Toronto pitchers just get injured.

    Stroman back next year.

They have officially given up on trying to win games with pitching.

    Good.

Tulo is not a perfect fit for the Dodgers.

He is a perfect fit for the Blue Jays.

Hitting at Rogers Centre is almost as good of a hitters park as Coors Field. He is going to love hitting there. Also the Jays have the DH as the Dodgers do not. This way they can keep Tulo's bat in the line-up in those day games that follow a night game.
