    would imagine they arent paid like kings, so things dont seem so cheap---australia and uk are screwed into the ground for crap the price of gas alone in the uk is day light robbery....

    San Diego is actually a pretty affordable city. In LA that price gets you a decent 1 bedroom apartment sort of near the beach. The companies that run the type of properties you see are also notorious for raising rent every year without fail.
