Seth Curry showing some potential in summer league - Maybe he has potential???

Leading the summer league with 25 ppg over 3 games.

Trying to be his brother - shooting 18% from 3. Despite this, he is still putting up decent numbers and shooting 46% overall.

Shooting 63% from inside the ark - a highly impressive feat for a guy who is is 6'2 and ostensibly taking the majority of his shots from 10+ feet away from the basket.

Does anyone think he will ever be relevant in the league one day?

Has anyone been watching the kid? What is his game like?

I sort of assume he is trying to play like Steph but I do not know.

Can he get to the rim???

He's a decent role player. Think steve kerr. He got some mins in the NBA last year. I'm sure the Pelicans will sign him. Good fit next to Evans.

He only got 8 minutes last year and 6:34 were in a single game. It is unfair to draw any conclusions about the guy's NBA potential yet.

Has to be some tremendously large shoes to fill for him mentally though. I doubt anyone expects him compare to his brother but himself. Gotta be tough.

You asked what is his game like? and I answered. It's not a conclusion anyway, it's a projection. He's not going to be like his brother for gods sakes lol

I don't know why you'd compare him to his brother, beyond the obvious. Blake Griffin's brother is at summer league too, and it's equally pointless to compare him to Blake because he's not that type of player.

I didn't mean anything by it, I just meant, the guy has like 20 minutes in two years in the NBA. He could still become any number of different kinds of player. He doesn't seem to be a long range guy but that sort of remains to be seen.

He's a 3pt specialist, hence my steve kerr comparison. He's not much of a pick & roll guard but he knows where his bread is buttered.

the fact he has bounced around so many teams last few years and with the curry name and and his scoring not a good sign. think he tore it up in nbdl too and got dumped

    18% from 3pt?

If his last name wasn't Curry, people would be throwing rocks at this kid.

You look at stats, I'll watch the games. Not easy shooting pretty percentages when you're the focal point of the offense and not really cut out for a leading role. Better than 50-50 chance he gets picked up by the Pelcians imo.

It's just the Curry name and at the very best he's the 14th or 15th player for a cellar dweller NBA team. For perspective the Spurs just signed D-Leaguer Johnathon Simmons 25 6'6" 15ppg 4.3rbs 3.7ass, shot 49.5% and 39.8% 3pt. 3rd-Team All Defense and can finish at the rim. I've watched this kid play and he has a good all around game, playing even better so far this year, and is much better than Seth.

What if Golden State signed him? learn from his brother - keep his brother happy - focus on doing what his brother does - in a good mood - in a good environment. With maturity - I think it is worth a shot but not with the Pelicans. He needs to be somewhere like Austin Rivers got the chance with the Clips. The Pelicans don't have the time or the patience to develop a project. They are under the gun to be good right now with their budding star.

I don't think you understand the concept of a specialist. The Pelicans have a specific need for shooting -mainly because evans & holiday can't shoot. Whether J.Simmons is a better all around player than Curry is irrelevant. They want a guard that is a pure shooter -those are hard to find. What other shooters are there on the market? John Jenkins? Johnny Dawkins? Jimmer Fredette?

I have never followed summer league very closely and I did not see stats to previous years.

I am merely asking whether anyone thinks maybe he has the chops to be on an NBA roster.

GSW picked him up as an UDFA but waived him after a couple months.
He's also had a couple 10-day contracts around the league, but had no impact

No chance to be anything but a role player. Should be able to find his way onto a roster somewhere.

Hmmm, but what does that do to a man psychologically? He'd be like his brother's bitch. Better to be self-made, no?
