Manny Pacquiao gives advice to Oscar Dela Hoya

A couple of days ago, Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar Dela Hoya made an announcement; he said a report regarding his rumored comeback in the ring was not really true; he stated that he is happy with his life. A few days after, the Golden Boy of boxing shocked the whole nation when he tweeted that he is still interested to step into the ring; but according to him, this will only happen if Floyd Mayweather will agree to fight Gennady “GGG” Golovkin this coming September. He added that he will fight the winner of that match up next year.

After reading his tweet, some boxing observers took to their social media accounts and expressed their desire to see the Golden Boy stepping into the ring again after almost eight years of absence. One of those boxing observers is Manny Pacquiao. In an interview with Bong Lozada of Inquirer this afternoon, June 25, the former pound for pound king who is now facing several charges in the United States because of his failure to disclose his shoulder injury before the mega fight happened last May 2, has encouraged Oscar Dela Hoya to come out of his retirement and prove that he still has what it takes to become a champion again.
“It depends on him, if there’s nothing wrong with him, if he’s healthy, he can go. He can still do it if he still has that hunger in him as a boxer,” Manny Pacquiao said during the interview. Unfortunately, while Manny Pacquiao was expressing his desire to see the Golden Boy fighting in the ring again after eight long years of retirement, Lennox Lewis and Ricky Hatton were saying Oscar Dela Hoya should not make a comeback.
They said it would be better for him not to go back to the ring; instead they advised Dela Hoya to just enjoy life with his family. Aside from Manny Pacquiao, pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather has also expressed his desire to meet the Golden Boy for the second time in the ring. In one of his interviews, Floyd confirmed that he is willing to give a rematch with Oscar Dela Hoya.
