I'm Finding This Thibodeau Situation Intriguing

What do the Bulls do if they win the championship this year? There's no secret that management dislikes Thibodeau. They say winning cures all ills, but I don't think it stands a chance in this instance. I would think a lot of teams would ditch their current coach in a millisecond to hire this guy.

Yeah doesnt really matter for him, he can get any job he wants if he gets fired.
I think if he wins this year they will suck it up and keep him.

If he wins then he proves his style works.

I think all the reports are mostly report BS and reporters looking for something to talk about. The personnel is not going to change much. Everyone is under contract, except Butler who they can and will match no matter what. It's one thing if they want to go another way once Rose and Noah's contracts run out, but right now it makes no sense. I think he's got 2 years left on his deal. He'll probably play it out and then leave, perhaps along with Rose.

Would think that the fans in Chicago would riot if they fired him after winning a championship.

coaching and schemes run their course after a while, especially when personnel remains relatively stagnant. Hoiberg will put a lot of emphasis into fixing the offense and that will lead to a more entertaining product that fans will support

What has happened in basketball whether it's the NBA or college is there's way too much coaching meaning over coaching and leads to many many losses

He should have hired an offensive coach for an assistant and they wouldn't have problems. As good as thibs is on defense is about as bad as he is as an offensive coach. He's probably gone at seasons end regardless.

Hopefully Pelicans don't sign him. If not, he is going to break AD.

Hoiberg is the next Bulls coach, basically already has a handshake deal in place. Bulls fans should be happy about this, they'll play a much more exciting and consistent brand of basketball.

yes, they have personnel issues starting with Butler who is a RFA and will command max dollars. they either pay it or someone else will.

Rose is due $42M over the next 2 years, thus is untradable unless the Bulls eat half of his contract (or take back an equally terrible one). it would be great if the Bulls could move him because there's a lot of cheaper PG talent that can be acquired in his place.

Noah is expiring after next year, but is still due $13.4M and might be facing microfracture on his left knee in the somewhat near future, so that could really undermine a good portion of his trade value.

they really need players like Mirotic and McDermott to pan out.

You won't see anything in a couple of hours. Thibs is not getting fired. He's getting traded to the team willing to give the best draft pick. Probably not Pelicans because they are draft poor.

My guess is he goes to the Orlando Magic and the teams flip their first rounders.
