    those guys are idiots.

the whole purpose of being rich is to not have to think about money and be able to relax and have the freedom to do whatever you want to do without having to listen to anybody.

If i were them i would rather be cruising the carribean in a mega yacht sippin umbrella drinks than sweating out a point spread on a game at some smokey casino featuring lazy careless NBA athletes or 18 and 19 year old college kids who cant make a fukkin free throw.

All MLB managers need to implement a ban on Twitter and Facebook.

Nothing good has ever come from Social Media. It has destroyed more careers than drugs and hookers combined.

b/c what the hell is the point of a rich person gambling? He is already rich so he has nothing to gain and everything to lose.

Gambling is stressful as fukk. Yes i get an adrenaline rush from it and yeah the high i get from winning a big bet is a greater Euphoria than anything else in life i have ever experienced its almost as good as busting a nut or smoking some awesome weed but its definitely a habit i would break if i didnt have to do it
People do not gamble to become rich, now you're a dumb penetrate in my book too.

If he's betting on the bookie possible to trace it

but what is a better way for a 24 year old pitcher 2nd year mlb to make money?

tank a game on purpose to win a game at your max limits?

or compile the best stats you can so that you continue to stay in the majors and make 500K a year as opposed to the minors salary and riding buses?

guy will be arbitration eligible soon with a potential payday of 6-8 million per year for three years until he is free agent eligible.

do you think he would risk all that for a 10k bet?
    You're being too logical, Archie.

It's like saying a guy wouldn't kill his wife, and would simply divorce her, because he wouldn't want to go to jail. Although plenty of spouses kill their significant others every day.

If this guy has a serious gambling problem, people will do anything for action.

With that said, I don't think there's enough evidence to convict the guy. He could have simply been joking, or a friend of his grabbed his phone, etc. Could be anything.

a couple things yes i agree with you about sometimes things dont have to make sense...Cincinnati Reds pitcher Mike Leake was arrested for stealing a T-shirt at the mall. Why would he do that when he could pratically buy the whole damn mall???

but another thing Giant... why do you think there are so many murder cases where a husband or wife kills their spouse? I dont understand why someone would kill their spouse.

People love getting away with things. Did you watch the Robert Durst special? This guy had like $50,000 in his car, but would go in a store to steal a sandwich. People do things that don't make sense all the time.

As for killing spouses. It's true what they say, there's a fine line between love and hate.

    Exactly.

"While MLB's rules strictly prohibit gambling on the National Pastime, they don't forbid players from casting bets on other sports."

kid is saying he was hacked

    http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/12...gambling-probe

Courtney confirmed Wednesday that it is not against MLB rules for players to legally gamble on sports other than baseball.
Cosart appears to have opened a new, unconfirmed Twitter account. On it, he alleged Wednesday that his initial account had been hacked to create the direct message conversations.
The Marlins acquired Cosart from Houston in a seven-player trade in July and have plugged him into their starting rotation this spring. He is 0-2 with an 8.49 ERA in four Grapefruit League outings.
The Marlins issued a brief statement on the matter, saying, "Major League Baseball is aware and they are investigating it and we have no further comment at this time."
Cosart's agent, Erik Burkhardt of Select Sports Group, did not respond to a phone call and email seeking comment.

My little twitter gambling circle was posting all over hell about this last night. His account was active when I first looked him up after seeing the screenshots of his conversation. But he changed it to private. About an hour after that a few said he blocked them. Then shortly afterwards his account was deleted. Now MLB is involved 12 hours later. They don't mess around.

    MLB has closed its investigation.

Cosart is being fined an undisclosed amount and no evidence of betting on baseball has been found.
