Pistons championship against The Tony Campbell led Lakers should not have counted. That was the Worse Finals team ever. No Magic, No Kareem, No point guard. Swept, swept, swept. Asterik.

Kareem retired afterwards, Cooper was over the hill, Worthy couldn't do anything unless someone got him the ball. AC Green couldn't score and Mychal Thompson couldn't even start for that team. No back court on the team for the finals was worse than missing Kyrie and Love for the Cavs.

Golden State was lucky day did not have to play the LA Clippers or the San Antonio Spurs although they did win who they played and are the champs

Um no. Yeah not having Kyrie or Love didn't help, but a better coach I think they the Cavs could of still pulled it off.

The Pistons led the Lakers 3-2 the previous year and led late in Game 7 before losing; the next year when Magic went down, the Pistons already led 1-0 and were leading in Game 2.

Because Detroit didn't almost beat them with a hobbled Isiah the year before... And would have won had Kareem not been gifted those free throws in Game 6. What a dumbass.

When did almost beat someone start meaning something? Cleveland almost beat Golden State, what does that mean for next year? NOthing. They both start from scratch next year, this years series will mean nothing for next years finals. Probably won't even be a rematch. If you think Magic going down in his MVP year is a non factor then go back and check to see how MVP's missed finals games. Yes, Magic was regular season MVP that year and he missed over half the games in the NBA finals. Get back with me when you see how many MVP's have missed finals games. Cleveland had their best player, but were missing their next two best players. Lakers' were missing the LEAGUE's MVP, big difference.

...and during a yr in which they played in an extremley deep, tough, competitve conference.
It's sports. Injuries happen. Doesn't discount what they did during the regular season or in the playoffs.

SMH. Nothing but a bunch of this going here.

Props to those who took the wrong side and taking their loss like men.

Part of the game is injuries and usually the team that is healthy ends up winning

For avoiding the Spurs and Clippers, having an easy way to
the final, and then facing a depleted team with a superatar surrounded by bench players

Why would their be an asterisk because they played the Pelicans, Grizzlies, and a Rockets team that beat the Clippers (who beat the Spurs)?

Would their be an asterisk next to the Cavs this year if they won? By your logic...they skated through a preposterously weak Eastern conference and played a weak Warriors team who deserve an asterisk and apparently didnt have to play anyone to get to the finals.

It's not always going to play out exactly how you want it to, Seaweed. There is no reason that this championship is any less deserved than any other.

Warriors are a good team who got lucky.

They played one of the weakest teams to ever be in the final.

    There is no debate there.

    2 stars were out.

    Changed everything.

    End of story.
