    Is Maryland a sweet sixteen lock?

    How good are they? I see they have a great record.

    Before the mich st game in big 10 tourney Maryland was 11-0 in games decided by 6 pts or less. Seems to be very lucky to have that great record.

    They looked good against Wisconsin in the regular season.
    They looked bad against Michigan State in the Big10 tourney, got destroyed in the 2nd half.

    Same story for me. The have great guard play in Melo and Dez Wells can take over a game and put the team on his back. Someone needs to step up (Layman or Pack). They don't play good on the road but these are neutral courts so I don't know if that translates. I think they make a Sweet 16 run to play Kentucky. If that games number is over ten i'd take UMD. Kenpom has them as a lucky team and I'd rather be lucky than good.

    They are a good team. If Greg Anthony didnt have to get his pecker wet I'm sure he would be preaching the guard play to us right now. They remind me of uconn last year. Solid defensively. A little undersized in the middle but are quick to the basket and can hit the long ball.

    I think they are heavily overrated.

    Got lucky with that seeding as I think they should have been an 8/9 and could have had a quick first round exit as a result.

    I thought Valpo has a decent shot to knock them off for this reason.

    I don't think they are necessarily overrated, they do what they have to do to win, and since they dont "wow" us, we dont see them as good as they really are.

    To actually be serious about it, a #4 seed is supposed to be a top 13-16 team in the country in theory and I think they are a ways from that. But that logic though, North Carolina really the only deserving #4.

    They have won a ton of close games and get to the line and hit their free throws. Line says the game will be tight so you have to feel good about their chances in a close game.
