College basketball totals are the hardest thing to cap. Their is a reason why you see some many low first quarter half and the game still goes over. Over vice versa, high first quarter and the game still go under.
Here is why the totals are hard to predict. If a team play zone D the entire game, college games are guarantee to go under almost every time since basketball players are poor jump shooters. Most teams will either zone all game or a variation of both. This is why we see a common huge disparity in scoring halves. You just don't see that in the NBA.
