If you were the Los Angeles Dodgers....

Would you trade top prospect SS Corey Seager and starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy to the Philadelphia Phillies for Cole Hamels and Cliff Lee?

Sure Seager if your #1 prospect but this would be a dope rotation
    1. Kershaw
    2. Greinke
    3. Hamels
    4. Ryu
    5. Lee

move Anderson to the bullpen. he had some experience throwing out of the pen in Oakland.

Whoever gets Hamels is going to have to give up a top prospect.

Cole Hamels could be a Cub if Theo gives the okay on Addison Russell

I wouldn't give up Russell if I were the Cubs though

cant always plan for the future...

Starlin Castro is only 25 so IMO Russell is expendable.

Ace pitcher Jon Lester is in his prime now... 2 years from now he might not be pitching at the same level

The question is why would the Phillies do that? McCarthy can't be traded for a while anyways

Phillies GM says his asking price will not budge and he wants a top prospect in return for Hamels.

he says Hamels is a proven commodity. Front of rotation ace and former World Series MVP.

It cant be just any prospect he wants a Seager or Russell top 15 prospect in the world type player.

obviously he knows Kris Bryant is not an option.

although the Yankees and Angels would both love Hamels they dont have a prospect worthy of consideration.

They should ask for a top prospect, but they aren't just throwing Lee in there...these are the Phillies so who knows

funny thing is if the Phillies stay healthy and the veterans can play like they are capable they would actually be pretty decent.

Lets not forget #3 starter Harang had a really nice start last year with the Braves.

    Ben Revere
    Chase Utely
    Ryan Howard
    Domonic Brown

they still got a lil pop in that line-up and the bullpen will be pretty good.

Howard can't hit to the left side of the field so he constantly has to bat into the "shift", Ben Revere throws like a girl and Dom Brown gives a full effort maybe twice a week. They have a damn good bullpen though! Not enough men getting on base and the "pop" in the lineup doesn't start till the weather gets warm. There's a reason why the Phils have the lowest over/under win totals this year.

its funny how all these casual baseball fans get so attached to prospects.

some of these guys never amount to anything.

I mean c'mon Mayan the Dodgers have money to burn... they aint the Pirates.

They dont have to develop talent they can simply keep buying players until they eventually work out.

nah i agree with the low expectations for the Phillies. Although the Braves could be worse.

Mets have a nasty rotation. Marlins have a lot of talent too.

I think to get Hammel it would take Seager another second tier prospect and an MLB ready player (McCarthy). The deal the way you have it I would do for sure.

Rotation would be very heavy lefty but does look good.
