Is it common in Las Vegas for casinos to refuse bets? I put down 4 bets today in Laughlin, Nevada for future bets on the NCAA tournament. Each time, they got on the phone to call Vegas to get an ok. On the first one, I went to the Golden Nugget. I tried to bet $500 on Iowa St @ 30-1. They would only let me bet up to $333 since a win above that amount would result in a collection of over $10,000. I ran into the same situation @ the Aquarius. I was able to bet $500 on Villanova @ 25 to 1, but they had to call Vegas for an ok. The same situation as I bet $400 on Notre Dame @ 30 to 1. They spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone for my bet on Arkansas @ 80-1. I tried to bet $500, but they would only accept $300.
Does this situation normally happen in Vegas? It seems like in Laughlin, they will only take a futures bet if the collection is less than $10,000. I'm wondering if this happens much in Vegas. I used to be able to go to Laughlin and put down bets where I could collect well over $50,000 with no problem. I'm wondering if this is just a Laughlin issue or if this happens in Vegas also.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
