Eli Manning Wants More Than Big Ben's $99M over 5 Years

Giants are showing resistance to that kind of commitment, and who can blame them really? This is last year of Eli's contract, so stay tuned.

Sources tell ESPN New York the Giants are comfortable letting Eli Manning play out the final year of his contract.

The two sides recently had conversations about an extension, but are no closer to an agreement. It's not a surprise, as the Giants are in a healthy salary cap situation and word is Manning wants more than the five-year, $99M deal Ben Roethlisberger got last week. Per ESPN New York, the team doesn't appear ready to make that kind of commitment at this point. If Eli uses Ben McAdoo's effective scheming and a plethora of weaponry successfully in 2015, a deal will get done ahead of the 2016 season.

Just when i thought the NY Giants might be turning the corner....

Fukk Eli Manning that greedy fukk if NY Giants GM i would cut him after ELi saying this.

He needs to worry about getting better as a football player and not a getting a record contract for his borderline mediocre career he is having.

He litterally has been a failure the last couple seasons and a major reason the Giants lack of success and now he wants a fukkin pay raise????

fukk him. I hope he tears his ACL in training camp now.

Ben is coming off of one of his best seasons ever

but he still prob isn't worth that

then again, there really are no QB's out there that are going to be available and it seems the college ranks have not been giving many above avg pro level QB's recently

The way the QB market is going, the Giants might as well slide a blank check across the table.

he is past his prime. the giants could get to or 3 good players for over a 100 million. Hard to believe they would even consider it, with the way he has played the last 2 years

The Giants shouldn't offer anything until season gets underway. If he continues to play the same as the last few seasons, they shouldn't go overboard. Worst case you pay him a bit more or look to move on in 2016.

    definitely...

use that money to beef up the the secondary and just trade for or sign and another veteran free agent QB.

The Giants have 2 really awesome WR's and an aging coach... No reason to go with a rookie but there are plenty of guys who do a good job with the weapons the Giants have on offense.

Thats why you shouldnt ever sign a guy to a long term deal. Its best to keep them hungry.

Odell Beckham Jr. made him look better than he actually is last season imo. Not worth the dollars he is asking for.

How can you ask for 99 mil after losing to the Jags. Why don't guys like him get cut. I see guys who are far more productive and paid far less getting cut at other positions that make you shake your head, but a guy like this, never seems to happen.

he's probably not worth 100 mil but giants would be stupid to let him go.. there's certain qb's that are clutch and just have the it factor and he's one of them.. it's why the same teams are always in the playoffs and make the superbowl because the qb's are reliable.. yeah eli might be erratic in the regular season but he's clutch when you need him just like flacco is

If Giants follow their recent schedule they sneak into the playoffs and win it all this year so give the man his money before hes got 3 rings

And at anyone saying cut Eli. Who takes his job in a training camp QB competition other than guys worth more than 99/5yrs?
