I'll be interested to see if any of the Seahawk players give the media some fodder about their coach this next week.

I'd go the Pats just to stick it to Carrol and Wilson. Plus he could just say on to Cincinnati after every game like Bellichik in post game interviews

He'll go where the money takes him. He'll be 29 in April, this is his last big payday.

Umm wrong, (reports stated a day befor Super Bowl that Lynch was offered a Huge contract extension)

meaning Wilson will probably take a discount

Yeah, this is probably the article you're talking about. It said he might even retire? Sheesh.

This is where the empire starts to show cracks. So much depends on how much Wilson takes or has his deal structured who will be #1 priority. Be surprised if Lynch is in discount mode at his age this will be last payday. And he might still look prime but rb's at his age and mileage fall fast and hard.

He will want to play for a contender like Denver (paper one anyhow lol) I'm sure regardless. Oak doesn't sound bad that would be a helluva 1/2 punch with him and Latavius no doubt! Hes from Oak and the Raiders have a ton of $ to spend. Not sure I would feel great about tho when he gets to the back end of the contract he's gonna want.

Teams "offer" guys contracts and extensions all the time, because it is the "right" thing to do... how do you think media and fans would feel if they didnt offer the guy who has been their leader and their attitude for the past years? Just how i feel. You put an offer out there that is lower than what others will offer and boom, guy leaves and team doesnt look that bad, cause "come on they made an offer and it was more tHan what he had been paid previously."

Ok, fair point. It'll be fun to see what Lynch gets offered on the open market compared to what SEA just offered. I know it's not the same, but compared to Steven Jackson's move to ATL, I thought SEA made Lynch a pretty fair offer. We'll see.

Yes. Its just how i feel... i dont know how much other teams will offer, but i just feel like sometimes a team will "offer" a guy just because they feel it is moral.

The problem with SEA, they are going to run into salary cap hell in a hurry if they aren't careful, they've got more good players than money to pay them. I could see OAK making a run at Marshawn, bringing him home for above market value for sentimental reasons. I'm not really keen on the marketing side of the NFL and what moves are made in efforts to pacify fans and whatnot.

Well, he said one of the greatest of all-time. Not sure about that "when it counts" qualifier (doesn't it always count?), but I'm going with Payton, Sanders, Brown, Emmitt, Campbell, Peterson, Dickerson, Faulk....that's 8 and there are some others. Lynch only 29 though so maybe he can still move up the board, but I don't see him ever as one of the top 5 RB's of all-time.
