    Who likes Washington tonight?

They play very good off of losses and I think they can easily cover the 3 here.. What does the rest of SBR think?

Have a good week all and hope everyone gets through these storms on the east coast!

Wall was fouled on the strip. Lawson wacked him right across the hand.

in all fairness he would have had to hit this as soon as it came out, then he probably would have still gotten a push at best. cburland, listen to lakerboy though. the point is still valid.

Never touch the fave on a short line that has moved that much. It almost always ends in disaster.

depends on your read on the game. i used to make more of a fuss about line movement. truth of the matter is if they're your boys, then you need to get a read on them. i will boldly posit that you should have known this was going to be tight enough to where that you shouldn't have taken them as favorites in denver in the first place. you'd be surprised at how much line movement coincides with a more intimate understanding of the teams as opposed to what's just on paper. that's why you see a lot of people always posting shit like "this line went from here to here, why is that?"

that's not bad advice. definitely far from an "almost always" scenario though.

i just realized most of this doesn't make a ton of sense when applied to this game. these are more just general thoughts of mine on line movement.

I have no data to back that up. It's just something that "seems" to happen all the time. I know I've seen it so many times.

right, i know what you meant though.

line movement is tough, there's not really one way to talk about it. you just have to pay attention to it and develop a gut feel about it. those are dreaded words on a gambling message board. GUT FEEL. you have to realize movement very often isn't a predictor, and also know when it can be (like utah tonight in college basketball), and bet accordingly.

ultimately though, if you're doing your homework, your overall gut feel about a particular matchup shouldn't really be concerned with line movement anyway. but knowing when to act on line movement and when not to is also something you can develop.

Anyone here should know that you never bet on a team playing b2b going into Denver, they have a great chance in not covering.
