Something i dont understand about that NCAA Bowl

From the 20th of December up to January 4th, dozens of teams were playing, and suddenly, seven days later two teams will be playing the final game.

What tha hell happened to all the other teams?

I take it you are an NCAA Football newbie? Only 4 teams are selected for the College Football Playoff, with the semifinals this year being the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl, with those two winners advancing to the Championship. The rest of the games were just your good old fashioned garden variety bowl games.

all those games? most of them were a way for the players to pick up some extra money dropping passes missing tackles and getting a free trip to an exotic place like shreveport la or birmingham alabama
a lot of suspicious 4th quarter scoring sprees happened in these games, enough to realize it is best to stay away from 80 percent of them. meaningless games but a good way for a player or coaches to make some good side money.
