I'll go to my grave kicking myself about bitcoin especially since someone at the forum here brought it up when it was dirt cheap.

I remember I read the thread and thought to myself "this is clearly a ponzi scheme, there is no way people are that stupid"

Hindsight is 20/20, I now realize that is exactly why I should have bought some; I don't know what I was thinking, learned an important investing lesson there.

Bitcoin rush is over now if you try to trade to go get killed because of the volatility

im not saying btc is it, but its pretty safe to say that we are headed towards a point where world economics is conducted in a blockchain type technology basis. the act of passing pieces of paper between on another will seem silly soon enough.

there is no doubt about that. That is what is ironic about bitcoin, it was a ponzi scheme built on an idea to make major banks useless but all they will have done is made them more powerful. Chase said they noticed BTC popularity and said they see a way they could use the idea.

A lot of coins/banks/companies have tried to supplant Bitcoin as King of the Hill as an e-currency but they've been unsuccessful. There are over 500 alternative coins. Here are the top 10.

I don't think you idiots realize the amount of drugs being bought online using btc will make it so BTC never loses its value

and i don't see any of the main underground markets transferring to any other type of crypto

fyi don't ask me how I know this

A lot of the alt-coins are pump and dump. There are many day traders and market manipulation seems to be fairly easy.

im starting to see more and more say that making returns in mine-able alt coin markets has passed, and that newcomers should be looking to invest in methods that are similar to what ripple is doing. do you agree?

Your guess is as good if not better than mine on the future. I don't know much about mining.

There was a time when it was easy to arb day trading using multiple exchanges but that has passed for the most part.

Day trading was pretty good when the volatility of the coins was much greater than they are today.

I was also monitoring twitter trying to follow those in the pump and dump game.

I was really high on ripple at one time and bought a lot as an investment. I sold and ended up taking a loss. I really don't like the centralized ideas.

Seems like the people singing the praises of bitcoin have a vested interest. Guess I'd do the same if I had a stake in them and stood to lose my money if the bottom falls out.
